Two golf courses, a great pool scene and a high-end spa are all part of the package at the Melia Villaitana.
This place is designed to look like a traditional Spanish village. We’re talking pretty squares, pastel-hued buildings and a pool with a manmade beach. On top of that, highlights include four restaurants, two tennis courts and a spa.
The property has a prime hillside postcode with sweeping sea views. And it’s sandwiched between two 18-hole golf courses. If you want to head into town, Benidorm is just a 10-minute drive away.

The lagoon-style pool here definitely takes centre stage with its generous size, glossy palms, wooden bridges and rock features.
Evening entertainment programme in high season
The Royal Square is host to the evening entertainment, with professional live shows including The Lion King, Mamma Mia, magic shows and an acrobatic circus. Parties take place, too, with themes like black and white and Ibiza chill-out scenes.
There's plenty in the way of treatments here, from relaxing facials and Indian head massages, to full body treatments. There are eight treatment areas as well as a deluxe cabin with a Turkish bath and a hydrothermal area with Finnish sauna, Roman baths and an indoor pool with whirlpool. There's also the ECO YHI area which is located on an oriental lake with two outdoor cabins and two solariums.

GREAT HOTEL - FANTASTIC BREAKFAST
We landed in this hotel because our Jet 2 flight could not land in Madeira cause of the weather. When we heard we were going to Benidorm we were so annoyed as it is one place I thought I would never go to. HOWEVER, Jet 2 booked the whole flight into Melie Villaitana and what a find for us (we are planning a short break there in 2018). The hotel is FANTASTIC although a bit of a maze finding your room but you would soon get used to that. The room we had was great huge bed and lovely view of the Orchard. Bathroom was great mini bar (ops no Gin - bad mark on that one) Tea and coffee facilities as well. We had a fantastic breakfast in a lovely restaurant and had a couple of hours before leaving to catch our flight to wander around the hotel. The pools are amazing (The Level is for adults only - that is the room area we are going to book for our time there in 2018). A lovely bar sells all you need. 5 restaurants you would never need to leave the hotel. The SPA look lovely, not really our thing but looks to have all you would require. The staff were helpful, friendly and very accommodating. The views over the two golf course are great, even the view towards Benidorm is lovely but proves to us we would never book Benidorm - Its all high rise hotels nothing to entice us there. I would definately recommend Melia Villaitana to anyone but there are so many rooms you may want to take time to check them out before booking if you are looking for great views. We are looking forward to a short break there in 2018.More
Great golf hotel !! let down by a bad experience
Lets get this out of the way first, the hotel is great, the reception staff are amazing, the room was brilliant and very clean, the golf is amazing fantastic views across the towering Benidorm, breakfast is very good and the pool are the best I have ever seen, but this trip was let down by one of us ending up with FOOD POISOINING and the La Trattoria restaurant - 1st night we ordered but when the food came to the table (NOTE - the table) I was told the seafood lasagne was not available !! why so long to tell me :-( next we had to ask for gluten free bread over 10 times ! and it came towards the end of the meal. Next night my Seafood lasagne was available - but extremely over cooked !! the food poisoning !! it was a salmon dish - my poor friend was up and down all night and we flew home next day and she was not good !! almost considered an emergency landing but met by doctors who gave her injections and now recovering !! and I agree the manager was ok about it and would mention in their morning meeting but all he was concerned about was us not mentioning it the night before !! almost like he did not believe us !! The bar was exceptionally busy, yes its a golf hotel so lots of men and women golf societies its what you expect !! what we didn't expect was a very big conference going on and in the evening having to queue for 40 minutes for a drink !! no point having extra staff as the volume of people was very high but wow did they work hard and kept smiling :-) The golf - played the Levante course first - some good challenging holes and amazing views - note, book buggies before you go as all are booked out on the day !! - next day the Poniente course !! wow this is great - all par 3/4 but some of the best challenging holes we've played and really good fun ! Yes we will go back as its a great hotel and good golf but will keep well clear of La Trattoria restaurant.More

An Oasis Above Benidorm Town
Travelled to the Melia Villaitana on the 10th -16th September with my husband for a relaxing week. We have visited Benidorm many times over the years staying in the old and new parts of the town so we know our way around quite well. Prior to booking the Melia I knew it was out of the town but this did not deter me from going ahead as I wasn’t going this time for the nightlife . The holiday was quite last minute and up to the day before we were uncertain whether we could travel due to a family member being poorly. Fortunately, we did manage travel with Jet 2 holidays to this lovely hotel. The Melia Villaitana is a massive resort layed out like a village which is adjacent to a golf course. The entrance to the resort has a long sweeping drive uphill to a square where you will find the hotel reception to the right of the square with a sign saying the Level. If your transfer is by coach you will be dropped off at the roundabout in front of the hotel as the coach doesn’t enter the resort so you have to make your own way to reception. However, there is a security lodge at the entrance so if you need any assistance the hotel has golf buggies. Check in the quick and the porter took our luggage to our room 5031 .The room was spacious and well laid out, it was on the ground floor and the patio doors opened onto a garden, there was no outdoor furniture. The bathroom was also large with a bath and overhead shower. The room was kept spotless and we had fresh towels everyday. The grounds, buildings and pools are just fabulous and well spread out. We were on full board and found the food choice excellent. The house wine pleasantly acceptable and cost 12 euros. During our visit there was a high percentage of Spanish guests which were mainly families. There were several groups of golfers too. On the Friday before our departure we noticed the hotel became very busy with weekend revellers which actually surprised me as this hotel is not near the nightlife . I believe a taxi to the new town cost approximately 15 euros on way. All the staff we came across in the resort were always friendly even when they were busy. My husband and I really enjoyed our visit and will certainly visit again in the future. Thank you Melia Villaitana.More
The overall experience staying at Melia Villaitana was great. I could easily spent a week without going anywhere just relaxing by the pool and walking around the open area. There were several choice of restaurants, but I preferred the buffet to the rest. We attended a family wedding and it became a very memorable vacation. I'm hoping to go back. More
Poor value, at least in late September
Paid for "full board" and "The Level" (adults only). What I got was that most of the restaurants included in the "full board" were closed most of the time and "The Level" experience was a lounge with free soft-drinks, coffee, water and some snacks (raisins, nuts and candy) and area by one of the pools with a ribbon around it stating "The Level guests only". I have a feeling that my experience had a lot to do with this being "off season" so it is probably better during the summer.More
