Well-known neighbours

The town of San Agustin’s a fan favourite with British holidaymakers, and who can blame them? It’s stocked with restaurants and bars that look out over the Mediterranean Sea, and it’s within range of a handful of the island’s leading names. To the east, you’ll find Cala Mayor and it’s sweeping sandy beach. To the west, meanwhile, there’s Palma Nova and Magaluf – two of Majorca’s most-popular party areas. And, if that’s not enough, you’re a 20-minute drive from the capital city, Palma.

Cala Mayor’s coastline

When it comes to beaches, San Agustin’s got a couple of dainty sandy numbers for you to spread out on. But you’ll need to head over to Cala Mayor – a 10-minute drive away – if you fancy flaking out on a bigger swathe. The beach here’s the centrepiece of the town, with a row of bars and restaurants lined up along the sand. Plus, it’s got a few watersports centres where you can try kayaking, paddle-boarding and surfing.

Potter around Palma

Staying in San Agustin puts Palma’s platter of ancient landmarks at your fingertips, too. A 20-minute drive up the coast can take you to the city centre, where some of the buildings, villas and forts date back to the days of the Roman Empire. Head to the old town, meanwhile, and you can take a look inside the 13th-century cathedral, La Seu, before sampling the local tapas scene in one of the nearby eateries.
