Consell holidays
Jump to sections
Holidays to Consell plant you in a traditional town in the heart of Majorca’s wine-making region.
Peace, quiet and wine in Majorca
The town of Consell shows off a quieter side of the Balearics. It’s the birthplace of wine-making on the island of Majorca, and pulls rustic scenery out the bag – think historic vineyards, stony riverbeds and charming church squares. The outskirts of this handsome spot are just as idyllic, too, with the UNESCO-approved Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range running parallel to the town.
Years of wine heritage
Consell has wine worth shouting about. In fact, the centre of town is home to Bodegas Ribas, a family-run estate known throughout the island for bottling some of the country’s best-loved blends. With recipes perfected from 300-years of production, and vineyards open for guided tours, you don’t have to go far to sip velvety vino and learn the secrets of the oldest winery in Majorca.
Day trips to Palma
Consell may be all about those relaxed holiday vibes, but it’s bagged a great spot on the island for visiting busier Majorcan hotspots. It’s a 30-minute drive to Palma – the island’s cosmopolitan centre, where a cluster of beaches are backed by tapas bars and chic clubs. And for fresh air and unobstructed views across the island, you’ll want to make a beeline for Sierra de Tramuntana, the UNESCO-approved mountain range that runs north of Consell.
