Salgados Beach

The main calling card in peaceful Praia Dos Salgados is the beach. It’s a long, honey-coloured swathe of sand, and you can walk all the way along it to the Praia Grande De Pera and the Praia Da Gale Oeste beaches either side. Take a drive and you can be in the lively city of Albufeira in 20 minutes.

Birdwatching at Salgados Lagoon

It’s not only holidaymakers that flock to Praia Dos Salgados. The lagoon and dense marshland that surrounds the beach is a favourite spot for many types of birds who nest among its reeds and rushes. You can see red herons, black terns and spoonbills, as well as long-legged flamingos getting their feet wet.

Salgados Golf Course

The Algarve is known for the quality and quantity of its golf courses, and Praia Dos Salgados is no exception. The green here is one of the only ‘links’ courses in the region. This means it uses the coastal sand dunes and parkland within its layout. It’s a challenging round – 14 water hazards are among the low-lying wetland, so you’ll do well to not lose any balls.
