The Hotel Bayview is just a stone’s skim away from Sliema’s promenade, which means it’s got a clutch of cafés, shops and restaurants right on the doorstep.
The Hotel Bayview has scored a spot that’s hard to beat – it’s on the waterfront, the centre of Sliema is minutes away, and buses to Valetta stop right outside.
The hotel gazes out across to the island capital of Valetta, so expect some stellar views – especially if you head up to the rooftop pool.

The first disappointing thing on our first visit to Malta was the lack of view from our 2nd floor room. We had a small balcony and were faced with another a couple of metres away, overlooking a small internal courtyard, giving our room very little natural light. Thre were no other rooms available to move to when we enquired. The room was spacious and comfortable, but I feel the beds should have mattress protectors for hygiene reasons. The second disappointment was the lack of a lounge bar, meaning any drinks had to be fetched from the cafe be at the front of the hotel. The only entertainment was from a musician on Thursday who moaned a lot about having to move the furniture to set up his equipment. The choice of food is limited as mentioned in previous reviews. It is a fact - but what was on offer was tasty and well cooked and traditional Maltese fare including rabbit, duck, fish and liver. There is only one dessert on offer - with or without ice cream. The dining room is very busy especially at breakfast. The hotel is in a good location with convenient bus stops and ferry terminals for getting around the island. The roof terrace has great views and 2 pools. The tiled surface around the sun beds is treacherous when wet and we witnessed a few people taking heavy tumbles. There are warning signs about this and a disclaimer for any injuries sustained! The gentleman on the information desk in reception is very friendly and helpful as we're all the staff we encounteredMore
We just returned from a 5 day break in Malta and we found the hotel situated in a good spot. Within walking distance to local restaurants, bars, shops and the ferries to Valletta. We didn’t have any issues with the reception staff. Checkin and checkout went smoothly and quickly, the room we had was 617. It was small and the beds were uncomfortable, but the maid cleaned and made the beds every day. As we didn’t spend much time in the room the size wasn’t an issue. Breakfast wasn’t great, but you can get breakfast from down the road for 5 Euro at Tony’s bar which is superb.More
Good size apartment
I totally agree with other reviews regarding the check in, receptionists are more interested in answering the phone and leaving guests in the middle of a conversation, no customer service skills, quite rude and some have an attitude. The apartment we stayed in was in a block 2 doors away from main hotel, it was nice, spacious and clean, sea view was lovely but the bedrooms at the back are exposed to a lot of noise due to construction and lots of smell from fans of restaurants on ground floor, our stay was short so didn't effect us too much. Didn't expect a lot but, on arrival reception staff ignored us for about 5 min and then when they decided we had waited long enough started to check us in but every time the phone rang they just ignored us and took the call so it took a while to get checked in. The room was OK size but the balcony was tiny when we wanted to use it on of us had to go out shut the door so you could walk past door to your chair then the next person could go out, and it was so close to opposite balcony you could nearly shake hands with them. Do not like paying for Internet which was intermittent at best also don't like paying for the safe. You do get great views from the pool deck on the roof but it is a small area which can get very busy so not always possible to gets lounger, The only good thing about this hotel was the maid on floor 2 was excellent, friendly and helpfullMore
Don't waste your money!
Generally poor. Bed only made properly twice in 7 days. Took 4 attempts to get a kettle. Food cold. Restaurant was like a works canteen. Location is surrounded by building sites. Cranes everywhere. Lots of school groups.More
