View All DealsWith holidays to Lido di Camaiore, the sandy beach is just the start of things. This stretch of the Tuscan Riviera also brings designer boutiques, Art Deco architecture and easy access to Pisa.
Lido di Camaiore, on the Tuscan Riviera, has long been a fashionable spot. Artists, composers, poets and playwrights have all come to this laidback corner of Italy, and it’s still popular for its beautiful squares and gardens – not to mention the sandy beach. As for nightlife, the waterfront prom's lined with a generous supply of bars and restaurants. Pisa, Lucca and Florence all within easy reach, too.
Lido di Camaiore’s beach is right in front of the pedestrian promenade, with its pretty flowerbeds and palm trees. It’s a fantastic stretch of sand that runs for four kilometres between neighbouring Marina di Pietrasanta and Viareggio. There’s a gentle shelf into the sea and a good selection of great watersports. Back on dry land, the prom's got all of the cafés and restaurants you could need.
From Lido di Camaiore, you’re spoilt for choice on the daytrip front. A 15-minute drive gets you to the Medieval town of Pietrasanta – aka Little Athens. The place is filled with quirky sculptures and artists’ workshops. And in around the same time you could visit inland Camaiore with its Romanesque church and 7th-century Benedictine Abbey. Pisa's 40 minutes’ drive away, and you can reach Florence in around an hour and 30 minutes.
