Holidays to Cannigione line up quiet, sheltered beaches, tasty Sardinian cuisine, and daytrips to celebrity hangouts.
Laidback lifestyle
Cannigione's tucked away in a V-shaped cove on Sardinia’s northern coast, just a short boat ride from neighbouring Corsica. Because it’s backed by rugged, tree-cloaked mountains, there’s a real laidback country feel to this place. Terracotta-topped cafés and restaurants are dotted around the streets.
Long strips of sand
You’ll find a curvy beach beside the town’s yacht-filled marina, with sea-facing villas and a neatly-kept park behind it. Take a five-minute drive up the coast, and you’ll come across the chalky-white sands of Tanca Manna Beach – one of the most-popular sunbathing spots in these parts. There are a few Blue Flag numbers a little further on, in Palau, which you can reach in 20 minutes by car.
Daytrips to the east coast
Cannigione's a great base for exploring the island’s eastern shoreline, from celebrity playgrounds to pretty, Caribbean-style beaches. Porto Cervo's a big hit with Hollywood A-listers – visit the stylish marina and you can ogle their super-expensive yachts. Further down the coast is the charming port town of Olbia. Holidaymakers head here for the pristine beaches, clear waters, and boat trips to nearby islands.
