    Tucked into a wooded hill above Troulos Beach, this place comes with first-rate views. It’s about a 10-minute walk downhill to the sand, and 15 to the centre with its shops, bars and restaurants.

    Life revolves around the pool here. It looks out onto the beach, and there’s a bar supplying drinks and generously-proportioned snacks. The bar’s terrace is a great place to be at sunset.

    Better Than Before

    This was our second stay at La Luna, our last being back in 2016 which we had a great stay then. 3 years later wanting to come back to Skiathos we knew we surly couldn't go wrong coming back here. Waking up to a beautiful view every morning, with a lovely pool area and bar, great snacks/food etc. friendly and welcoming owners and staff... We were not wrong, amazingly and by accident we even ended up with the same room as before, it felt like we had returned home, to our happy place. And yes, the hotel and its views are still amazing, as are are its staff. The hotel itself and rooms are kept spotlessly clean, and the kitchen area with a fridge, 2 hobs, kettle and toaster, plates, bowls, pans and cutlery etc are more than adequate, although on this trip we only used it for breakfast. I won't go on much about the hill as everyone else mentions it, though it is what it is, yes it can be tough but you soon get used to it... a torch on your phone at night time so you can be seen and your good to go, plus it'll burn off a few calories that you've just consumed while having a lovely meal and drinks in Troulos itself. Have said in a previous review, as have others, bus stop 21 is the best stop to catch a bus to Skiathos town or Koukounaries, or to get off at. However if you want to explore the rough and wild side of Skiathos, we would recommend hiring a Jeep for a day or two. If your trip is with Tui, the rep at La Luna(Helen) can sort this for you, and it is well worth it. The only thing we found slightly disappointing was the breakfast, we tried it twice, once about half 9, and then again a week later at 8am, and sadly the hot food wasn't hot, tasted nice but a bit cold. Maybe we were just unlucky, but it did not ruin our time in any way. The bar food for lunch though was spot on, big portions and very tasty, the La Luna pizza is highly recommended, nostimo!! All in all, a great stay and a wonderful holiday here. We are not sure when we will come back to Skiathos just yet, but we definitely will and we will definitely stay here again.. Love it, our happy place :)

    This is a lovely self catered property. Located off the main road there is quite a climb to hotel but I dont think it would be a problem for anyone unless you had mobility problems. There is a lift from the road to take you up to the bar/pool area and the rooms are up another level but there is another lift if you need it. The place is run by 2 brothers who do a great job as do all the staff who are so friendly. All areas are spotlessly clean and the pool terrace has amazing views over Troulos bay as do all rooms. The rooms are well equipped but I have to say I only prepared breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay st La Luna and would highly recommend this property.

    We didn't know la luna hotel before we go, we have readen the best reviews and so we booked. The reviews were right. We highly recommend La Luna hotel: the entire staff is amazing, thank you to all of you, Spiros you are a fantastic person; the room was lovely and moderm, spacious, end really clean, the shower was large, important for a big man! Every little need was satified, you have followed me carefully for my gluten intolerance. The place was amazing, the pool area wonderful with a spectacular view as well as the view from the room. Amazing the beach near the hotel, were we also meet swans! Thank you we spent amazing time there.

    We arrived after booking just four weeks before we traveled having never been to Skiathos before. The view from our room was even better than the photos on here and on the TUI website. We were in a split level apartment in the older block and found we had everything we needed including lots of storage and 2 toilets! The outside clothes line with pegs came in very useful after a swim in the sea. The hotel is very well maintained and is a credit to the hard working team at La Luna we would definitely stay again without any hesitation. As mentioned in previous reviews the hotel is built on a hillside but there are two lifts to take you from the road to the accommodation area. These are handy if you’re carrying shopping back from the supermarket. Also the hotel is on a blind bend in the road so you need to be careful when walking into Troulos or to bus stop 21 but we used the roads to walk everywhere and never had a problem. There are charges for air con, the safe and of course the Greek room tax. We had the safe but due to weather being cooler at night in mid September we didn’t need air con. The bbq on a Sunday is a must and well done again to the team for the work they put in to make it successful. Our week went way to quick which is always a good sign that you’ve had a good holiday!

    We really enjoyed our stay here. We were allocated one of the highest rooms, which are the more modern ones on the complex, however this is a steep walk up even with the lifts on each level. If you have mobility issues probably best to request a room lower down. We were lucky that in the evenings the temperature dropped significantly, so I could manage the climb. The staff are lovely and really helpful and friendly. Spiros supplied us with a generous amount of mineral water for our room, which we were extremely grateful for in light of the long walk. Breakfast was a hot and cold selection in a lovely coverered location looking down on the pool area. Facilities were great. The only thing we did not like which is nothing to do with the hotel is that there is no street lights and no pedestrian path, therefore walking to the beach and the tavernas is mostly on the road, so you will need a torch, or the light on your phone to make sure the cars see you. This felt precarious, but would not stop us from returning as we absolutely loved Skiathos! Thank you Spiros and your staff, you do a wonderful job!!
