View All DealsHolidays to Punta are the antidote to the daily grind. The peninsula setting's smothered in greenery, so seclusion is a given.
At first glance, Punta looks devoid of any human footprint. Olive and pine trees blanket the peninsula, which comes to a point just across the water from Skiathos Town. Look a little closer, and you’ll see a sprinkling of villas and hotels nestled among the foliage. All of this stacks up to create the ultimate away-from-it-all break, where manmade features play second fiddle to natural beauty.
There’s a good chance you’ll get a beach all to yourself in Punta. True to its low-key form, the coastline’s peppered with bite-sized coves in place of a single, mammoth stretch. The beaches vary from sandy to pebble-strewn, and every one comes with a different view of a neighbouring island. And thanks to the peninsula’s finger-like shape, you’re never more than 10 minutes’ walk from somewhere to flake out.
Punta keeps itself to itself, but it’s still within easy reach of the island’s charming capital, Skiathos Town. It’s the most sizeable settlement you can visit without boarding a boat, and a 10-minute cab ride gets you to the centre. Paprika-coloured rooftops cluster together in the old town, and the marina’s accompanied by classic Greek tavernas and seafood restaurants. The beach scene’s worth a nod, too – there are stretches suited to both sun-worshipping and watersports.
