Mitsis Alila Resort & Spa

This was our 2nd visit to the Alila, we had such an amazing holiday and will be returning next year. Special mentions have to go to Theo in the beach bar, an absolutely great person and barman, the beach party evening was incredible, really good that the bar staff partake in some of the shots that the guests were having. So much fun, sore head in the morning though. Ivan the pizza guy was incredible too, really noticed the difference when he had a day off. Errikos the waiter in the Mexican needs a special mention too, lovely smiley guy always there to go the extra mile. Can’t wait to see you guys next year.

Party of 4 M/D 2 x teenage boys 18+16. We had 10 days here and it was brilliant. Due to a flight delay we arrived at 03.40 am, reception was excellent we were shown to comfortable seats and given a glass of fizz while the lady completed the checking in process. We had 2x family rooms which were spacious with balconies overlooking the sea. In the room the safe was free to use and the drinks bar also free and topped up daily. Beach towels also provided. Food here was excellent, My wife is Gluten intolerant and the staff made sure she was well catered for, with a choice of a la carte restaurants (highly recommend the Asian) and a very good main restaurant and if that’s not enough there is a burger bar and pizza on the beach during the day. Main restaurant has food until 4am! You can not go hungry. Evening entertainment was very good although we didn’t do the early Theatre shows as kids too old. My favourite- a Wine and a Champagne bar which can get a little busy at times. Excellent local bus service to Rhodes Town runs about every 15-20 mins Two reason for not giving 5 stars, first the hotel have a policy of not allowing people to just dump towels on sunbeds at 7am and disappear off only to return midmorning, Like most not well enforced so everyone does it, but the Hotel have come to some agreement with Thomas Cook holidays (Germans only) where people can reserve sunbeds on the beach before flying out to the hotel and there is nothing worse during busy periods than seeing loads of empty sunbeds with A4 signs saying Reserved by Thomas Cook all over the place, some of these beds remained unused for several days. Not only does this look awful but the signs are in English only so people assume it’s the good old Brits who are doing this. Second, Plastic! With so much plastic in our seas why is this Hotel still using plastic straws at its beach bar? so many ignorant families who just leave their rubbish as they walk off and these straws are blown about and can be seen on the beach. Come on Greece as I’m sure it’s not just here step up and do your bit for the environment. Otherwise great hotel and I would go again.

If I could, I would give this hotel ten out of five stars! I love this hotel! The hotel is luxurious but still very chill. The location is very peaceful, there's just few other big hotels aroud the area. If you want to shop something, just walk a couple of kilometers towards Faliraki (there are shops not that far away also, but the area is a lot smaller). The food at the hotel is magnificent! The breakfast and dinner buffets are awesome and very versatile; the menu changes daily, but some elements are available every day. Shoutout to Ouzeri, I love, love, love the seafood in there. Fried calamari and steamed mussels are next level delicious! The hotel has also a gyro restaurant, a burger restaurant, Mexican, Italian, Greek and Asian restaurants and they all are great, but Ouzeri is the best! Wine and champagne bars are so idyllic and the bars serve great coctails and baileys frappe, pleace check it out, it's really tasty. The beach is okay, it's nice, but stony so bring your flip flops with you. The pool is great. It's filled with salty water. The rooms are beautiful and clean. Actually the whole hotel area is so clean I could lick the floors. A big recommendation for this hotel! I've stayed in a number of different hotels in my lifetime and this one here is definitely the best!
