Another Amazing Holliday here... 4th year on the run! We love it here and highly recommend. Food is amazing, staff are very friendly and helpful. Billy and Nektriala great hosts. Very clean and evening entertainment great. Weather always beautiful.

We arrived at the Georgia Hotel at around 01:00 in the morning after a long wait in a coach at the airport. The welcome was incredible – warm and friendly, but appropriately muted for the time of night. We were given water, teabags and milk for us all and taken straight up to our rooms. We were visiting as a party of five, three adults and two children and had two twin rooms with an additional bed made up in each. First impressions of the rooms – incredibly clean! The rooms were identical and basic. The bathrooms were basic, again exceptionally clean and well stocked. Both had a balcony, a safe in the wardrobe (10Euros each per week) and air-con (7Euros a day each room – we didn't bother). There was a maid service daily (except when we asked them not to as we were resting), and towels were replaced, and beds made each time. Slightly odd thing, the teacups and glasses were not replaced with clean ones, so we had to rinse them out in the bathroom sink (we stayed half board so no kitchenette facilities in the rooms). The Georgia is situated between two main roads, but I really wouldn't let that put you off as it's not busy like a British main road would be. Noise wasn't a problem and there are plenty of crossings etc. The top road is a nice walk into the centre of the village and both that and the bottom road are served by buses to get you along the coast to Rhodes Town. Breakfast was taken in the restaurant and was buffet style. Times are 08:00-10:00 each day. The selection was adequate, hot breakfast items (bacon, eggs, cooked tomatoes, beans etc), cold meats and cheeses, salad items, cereal, yoghurt, fresh and dried fruits and breads/pastries. Unlimited hot and cold drinks. We ate lunch from the pool bar on a couple of occasions – this has an extensive and amazing value menu. Drinks were also great value and a huge range available. Supper was also taken in the restaurant and buffet style. Times 19:30-end. The range on offer was fine. This was good, basic food. Different Greek dishes each night plus some 'staples' of pizza and fries if the kids were not feeling the Greek offering. Going up for seconds was encouraged and after the guests had finished you would see the family sit down to eat, reassuring they consume the same food! The pool was brilliant. A good temperature and brilliant size for younger kids. Got a bit crowded when older kids were in there too, but never an issue as such. Most days there were plenty of loungers for everyone. The biggest asset of this place is the amazing family that run it! Pretty much everyone there is family it seems. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed and nothing is too much trouble for them. You are treated very much as visiting friends. The beach is about a twenty minutes walk from the hotel, but Crazy Billy runs a van down three times a day to shuttle guests back and forth so that isn't a problem at all. We walked into the centre of Afandou one day – again about a twenty minutes walk. It was nice to get into the main village and sit down for a coffee with the locals! If you stay at the Georgia you MUST go to their Greek night. As we were Half Board there was no extra charge for this (normal 15Euros for adults and 10/7Euros for kids). This night is completely performed by the extended family, with Crazy Billy taking a starring role!! Think traditional and modern Greek dancing, fire rings, LOTS of audience participation, and great Greek BBQ food. Normally check-out is at noon. As we were not being collected until 19:00 for our 22:35 flight Nick said at breakfast that if we could vacate one room straight away we could use the other until we left! No extra charge. What an amazing gesture. Also, because of our travel times we’d be missing the supper that night, so he said that we could eat from the bar menu that lunchtime so we didn't miss out on a meal we’d paid for. It meant that we could eat, rest and shower etc without rushing and really topped off a lovely relaxing stay – Thank You so much!
