View All DealsHolidays to Tingaki offer an easy way to get away from it all in Kos – think lazy beach life, relaxed tavernas and interesting daytrips.
Tingaki, on the north coast of Kos, is a byword for tranquility. This little place is tucked just behind the magnificent stretch of sand here, so you can easily saunter between the beach and the bars, restaurants and shops. The nightlife is low-key, but if ever you want more action, Kos Town is about 11 kilometres away.
You’ve got 6 kilometres of soft white sand dipping gently into shallow waters, with views across the sea to Turkey. It’s all geared up for relaxation here, with sunloungers and parasols to hire, and tavernas backing the beach serving up snacks and cold drinks. It’s a premier spot for watersports, too, whether you want to go kitesurfing or just cruise in a pedalo.
Evenings in Tingaki have a nice pace. Everything revolves around the bars and restaurants along the main street, which are predominantly family-run, so nightlife here is about quizzes, karaoke and live music rather than loud clubs. And for quieter nights, there are plenty of chilled-out bars where you can unwind over a bottle of wine.
The island’s bustling capital is a 20-minute bus ride away. Down at the harbour, there’s the 15th-century Crusader Castle of the Knights of Saint John, which comes with great views at the top, and the next-door Archaeological Museum. For eats, drinks and people-watching Eleftherias Square is a good place to be. Then an afternoon can be spent browsing the shops for local ceramics, jewellery and leather goods.
