Ratzakli holidays
Jump to sections
Holidays to Ratzakli take you to a tiny village in Kefalonia. It's a real get-away-from-it-all place, and you've got lively Skala just down the road if you fancing upping the pace.
An old-world Greek village
This traditional village perches on Kefalonia’s southeastern tip. You won’t find much to spoil the tranquillity here – just a clutch of pretty houses in the centre. The main attraction is Kaminia Beach, a wide stretch of golden sand, just 500 metres down the road. There’s beautiful countryside, too. And when you want something more upbeat, Skala is just a five-minute drive away.
Chilled-out coastline
The peace and quiet you’ll find in Ratzakli is mimicked on the nearby sand-and-shingle swathes which, for the most part, have been left undisturbed. One of the closest is Mounda Beach, a five-minute drive away. Aside from a smattering of sunbeds and a couple of boutique hotels, the whole stretch is bordered with thick greenery, giving it a secluded feel.
Daytrips to Argostoli
It’s a 45-minute drive to the capital Argostoli, which is the island’s main port. Here you can stroll along the palm-lined prom and watch the fishermen haul in their catch. Or visit the archaeological museum, filled with artefacts dating back to the Roman and Hellenic periods. After that, the main square, lined with pavement cafés, is the best place to head for a coffee.
