The tiny village of Spanochori is tucked away in the hills of Lefkas’ rolling countryside. It's a 20-minute drive from the island’s capital, Lefkada City, and a selection of sandy beaches. This place is as peaceful as it gets. Other than a couple of Greek restaurants, the surrounding tree-blanketed hills steal the show. They’re loaded with walking trails, one of which leads to the Church of Prophitis Elias, a 500-year-old hilltop chapel that serves up top-drawer views of the coast.
