A car-free coastal village

Agios Nikitas is plonked between green hills on Lefkada’s northwestern coast, with the Ionian’s turquoise waters lapping the shore. At its heart is a pedestrian-only main street – that’s right, no cars allowed – lined with stone houses, boutique shops and traditional Greek tavernas. The village beach is just steps from the centre, while the famous Milos Beach, reached by footpath or boat, is a more secluded option. And if green is more your thing, hiking trails weave through the hills to panoramic viewpoints – some even winding down to hidden coves.
