A near-beachfront setting and a gourmet restaurant are just a couple of the draws at the Aquila Porto Rethymno.
This place has a great postcode. It’s just across the road from a sandy beach, and less than a 10-minute walk from Rethymnon’s lively town centre.
The bedrooms are housed in a modern, U-shaped building. Each room type is bespoke – some have mauve colour schemes with stripy wallpaper, while others feature floral themes.

5 star holiday hotel with only a few minor things that may be classed as not matching the overall high standards . the rooms are on the small side as is the bathroom both being clean and comfortable.swimming pool only in the sun half the day but a nice sunbathing level at the front of the hotel + excerlent free beach area.price of spirits five half euros making the allinclusive attractive this also allowes you to use the very good alacarte restaurant .food and service of high standard as is the cleanliness ,very welcoming and friendly staff. hotel in good position for centre of resortMore
If you go to Rethymno In Crete you should stay at Aquila Porto. The hotel is located on the beach with plenty of private beach space and sun beds, no fighting for position at the crack of dawn. What really makes AQP special is the their approach to guests. It is simply brilliant, attentive, informal, knowledgeable and positive. Virtually everyone smiles all the time and nothing is too much trouble. They are all good but notable are Marinos the Bar Manager who has encyclopedic knowledge of cocktails and welcoming smile for every guest. Filio the Guest Relations Manager is also accomplished and all the Reception staff go out of their way to accommodate your requests. We had a Deluxe Room on the Mythica package, basically it means premiums all inclusive. I would recommend this to anyone, the rooms are lager with direct sea balcony and the package include the A La Carte Restaurant. The food in this restaurant is near fine dining standard. Make use of the Gala Dinners especially Lobster night. They have a very good wine list that is not too expensive. The Buffet is varied and good as opposed to outstanding. The Hotel arranges many events classed as celebrations where the objective is to engage with guests and encourage interaction. There is also a resident hotel photographer who will range a portfolio for you (at a price) and there is regular entertainment in the Lobby area. We did a lot of touring locally to Santorini, Chania, Aga Galini, Heraklion etc but noted we liked to get back "home" to Aquila Porto.More

I probably had the poorest view as our room backed onto the road behind the hotel, but you get what you pay for. So 216 to 225 is defiantly the rear view. However many rooms view the seafront. Its a great hotel, grounds are small. the best thing about this hotel are the people and the food. The people know how to welcome and serve you and make you feel special. the executive chef is excellent. I've been to many 5 star hotels, here the food is fresh, local and very well cooked and presented. The variety of dishes is amazing. I saw the chef at the end of the breakfast session looking and taking samples to obviously see if all was as good at the end as at the beginning. His team work really hard and he must be very proud of them. The spa was a little expensive but good. The only down side I had of the hotel was the room doors, you cant shut then quietly as you have to pull the closed. So if you want a lay in, well forget it! Housekeeping was also very good. I was a little poorly for one day and our housekeeper for our room was genuinely concerned, giving advise and letting me know they were there for me if I needed help. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel.More
