View All DealsHolidays to Lefkimi let you experience Corfu's authentic side. That said, the bright lights of Kavos are still within easy reach.
As Corfu’s second largest town, Lefkimi is one of the more traditional places on the island. There’s a distinct lack of a tourist presence, and that’s where the appeal lies. In terms of looks, expect narrow streets lined by pastel-painted houses, time-worn churches and cobbled piazzas – all wrapped in a blanket of olive groves and vineyards.
Lefkimi gradually trickles down to two sandy beaches, set either side of a pint-sized harbour. And, from there, you can take a boat ride across the bay. After sailing for around an hour – soaking up the impressive mountain scenery as you go – you’ll arrive on the Greek mainland, where nearby Platarias offers up teeny tavernas and a honey-coloured shoreline.
For a taste of the 21st century, Kavos is only 10 minutes’ taxi ride away. This popular seafront resort deals in thrill rides by day, with everything from banana boats to bungee jumping on the menu. It’s a lively scene at night, as well. Right up until dawn, bass-pumping beats sound from the bars and clubs that punctuate its neon-lit strip.
