Kommeno Bay holidays
Holidays to Kommeno Bay take you to an exclusive retreat on Corfu's eastern coast – there's fine dining, secluded beaches and Corfu Town just 20 minutes away.
Away from it all
Halfway up Corfu’s eastern Ionian coast is the secluded Kommeno Bay, an up-and-coming place that boasts luxury hotels all along its pine-fringed shore. The main pastime is hotel-hopping – getting from cabaret shows to restaurants to bars, all housed in the grandest of settings. The quiet private roads give the impression of remoteness – but you’ve got bustling Dassia’s lively beach bars and Gouvia’s 18th-century Venetian architecture only 10 minutes away.
Quiet sandy beaches
Kommeno Bay has some of the most coveted shoreline in all of Corfu – this is where Greece’s elite build their villas. Hotels own the beaches but non-guests can get to all of them. They’re scattered and very small, sometimes even just a patch of sand-and-shingle fit for 2. Watersports centres are based in the hotels – the parasailing gives you a really great view of Albania across the water.
Daytrips along the coast
Head south to Gouvia, 10 minutes’ drive away, to the ruins of an 18th-century Venetian shipyard – it’s remarkably intact, as you’ll see when you walk around it. Another 15 minutes of driving and you could either be in Aqualand, the colossal water park in the middle of Corfu, or the more sophisticated Corfu Town, the island’s capital where the architecture is a mix of British, Venetian and French.
