Restia Suites

This was our first time to this hotel and in fact it's been decades since i've been to Corfu in general. We were there first week in Sept, generally day time temp was 30 - 34 deg so it was pretty warm. On arrival greeted by Manager and Staff and looked after by Vivienne who was great. We arrived late so there was a sandwich in the room, knowing we would be late i had asked if my wife could have a salad instead of a sandwich and sure enough it was there waiting for her. We were in 110 which had a garden pool. Room and and bathroom area are very spacious, possibly the most spacious we've come across. Very clean and came with Jacuzzi tub, shower/steam room and double sink area. Rooms were made up every day and there is a turn down service at night. Room had a safe (free of charge) team making facilities and beach towels were supplied in room. It also had free WiFi although not the fastest but enough to send emails etc but it was limited to the room. Garden and pool were great, water was a bit cold although when you're lying in 34 deg anything else is going to feel cold, but it was fine once in. Breakfast is buffet with eggs in whatever vareity is ordered from a menu. At night we always ate in downstairs resturant which had freshly cooked food from a menu which had a great choice and a special for the courses every night. Have to say i thought the food was really good and again staff were brilliant, no complaints. We hired a car while there and it was arranged by hotel, cheapest was 48 Euro's per day which we took as there was only the two of us, it was a skoda citigo. Wouldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding but it was fine for what we needed and visited Kasiopi, Sidari and Acharavi. There was a fully comp insurance for 6 euro on top of that and a depoist of 150 euro (swipe of credit card is fine). Out of the hotel the beach is across a narrow quiet road and hotel has its own lounger area. Beach is miles long and not very busy when we were there. There has been a lot of talk of mosquitos on reviews, we didn't get bothered except we went to take some pics at sunset on the beach and i got about 5 or 6 and my wife had a lot more. Generally we didn't get to much bother around the hotel with them but my wife did get one or two. We took Deet based repellant, wrist bands and Avon skin so soft. The only thing i guess is the hotel is 25min walk outside Acharavi, my wife has a knee issue at the moment so no way we could walk in, but visited when hired the car and there is plenty of shops and restaurants there. There are a few near the hotel to, we didn't visit them but other people at the hotel said they were very good. We had a busy holiday in Italy earlier in the year so this was supposed to be a quiet relaxing holiday and it is definitely that. We don't normally go back to the same place twice only very occasionally but this is one place i think we will be visiting again at some point.

We have visited restia suites twice. Positives are the amazing pool suite room, great drinks by the pool and the small size of the hotel. Only issues we had were noise from the room next door especially when using the pool, the state of the decking on the beach is quite bad, and the drive from the airport is very bumpy. We would visit again but would prefer if it didn’t have to be booked with tui.
