Biograd na Moru holidays

Holidays to Biograd na Moru pitch up on Croatia's coastline, with easy access to waterfront promenades and pea-green parks.
Chasing waterfalls
Biograd na Moru – often shortened to 'Biograd' – is a town in the north of Dalmatia, sandwiched between a peacock-blue coastline and a sprinkling of pine forests. If nature’s your thing, you’re in luck – it's about 40 minutes' drive from one of Croatia’s most picturesque spots – Krka National Park. The famous Skradinski Buk waterfalls take centre stage here, with 17 streams cascading into a turquoise lagoon. A wooden pathway guides you around the park, weaving between white hornbeam forests and wetlands filled with water lilies. Keen birdwatchers are in for a treat, too – there are more than 200 species to spot.
Out on the waves
If your happy place is out on the water, Biograd’s got you covered with a duo of pretty marinas and a bundle of watersports to try. This part of the Adriatic Sea's a great place for sailing – a spot on the northern Dalmatian coastline means the sea’s fairly sheltered and calm, and there are lots of small islands you can hop between on your travels. You can hire your own boat, or join a group trip – dolphin and whale-watching tours are on the cards for animal lovers. Plus, if you want up the ante, there are plenty of parasailing boats, kayaking groups and paddle-boarders out on the water, too.
Soak up city sights
Biograd’s a small seaside town, but if you fancy a change of scenery, you can hop in a taxi and reach the lively centre of Zadar in about 40 minutes. This vibrant city knits together a bundle of historical sites with a booming food scene – think seafood dishes and freshly-baked pastries. Plus, it’s home to two famous modern art installations – the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun. The Sea Organ plays music created by the waves in the sea, interacting with underwater tubes so each song is unique. And the Greeting to the Sun is a huge solar-panelled installation that glows with a rainbow-hued light show after sunset.
