Our All Inclusive holidays to Tulum take you to a part of Mexico that’s teeming with world-class Mayan ruins and wallpaper-worthy beaches.
Tulum’s ancient treasures
Tulum’s Mayan ruins – known as the Tulum Archaeological Zone – are considered to be some of the best and most important in all of Mexico. The entire complex is over 700 years old, and is the only place in the country where you’ll find ruins like this so close to the coast. Back in the day, Tulum used to be an important trading outpost, where two of the region’s most precious gems – jade and turquoise – were shipped around South America. Nowadays, you can take in the views from the clifftop castle’s walls, and walk around the old temples.
Signature sandy swathes
Like the rest of Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, the beaches around Tulum have all the same perks as swathes you’d find on Caribbean Islands like Antigua or the Dominican Republic. The sand’s as white as a dove, the water’s sapphire blue, and they’re backed by a string of shady palm trees. Playa Paraiso and Playa Santa Fe are two of the favourites in Tulum – spreading out on either puts you less than 10 minutes from the town’s iconic ruins.
Countryside cenotes
Head into the countryside around Tulum and you can visit some of the region’s most-recognisable landmarks – cenotes. There underwater pools were used like wells by the ancient Mayans, but these days they’re some of the most-popular dipping spots in the country. The cenote headliner – Dos Ojos – is a 25-minute drive from Tulum, and lines up five jungle-wrapped pools for you to soak in.
