Fun, but will not return
My husband and I stayed for a 10 day vacation. We really enjoyed our stay, But on that note, the food at the buffet was extremely redundant. It did not change the entire time we were there. The rooms are clean and well maintained, the mini bar was stocked daily. We have done a fair amount of travelling in the past 10 years, and I really hate to say that this is probably the only resort that we will definetly not return to. The staff at the resort are very friendly, but be wary of your concerge that meets you once you check in. She is there to sell you time share. It is a point system, and if you are budget conscious, will quickly realize it is a huge cash cow for those that are trying to sell your next vacation to you. The resort is small, I really thought I would prefer that, but next trip I will be looking for something a bet larger. And stop with the persistent time share crap............If we want to invest, we will come looking for you.More
Nice and Relaxing
I can’t really say anything bad about this place except for the beach...you have to walk to the end of the resort to get to the beach and even then it is pretty small and the water isn’t clear/blue...however if you walk a little ways down to the right the water gets more blue and if you walk to the left you find a nice lagoon to swim in, i highly recommend going to the lagoon! The pools were nice, they had one for relaxing and one for ‘partying’, both had bars nearby too so it was never a far walk. Tiger in the lobby bar was EXCEPTIONAL! He always made sure you had what you needed and always greeted you with a smile and a wave. Lots of variety when it comes to places to eat, food wasn’t always super good but it was decent, the blue moon and the Italian place were the best. A good place if you’re looking for a more relaxing adults only resort, it was never loud or crazy. Definitely hope to come back here one day! More

Lovely hotel for short visit
I recently visited this hotel for 4 nights. It is a very good all-inclusive hotel. I would like to rate the hotel 5/5 which is what it truely deserves, however it’s 4/5 as improvements need to be made as I will detail below. Pros: The hotel is beautiful in a lovely setting. Don’t expect all night party life and the resort next door however you can get a taxi into Playa Del Carmen which is the main resort for a reasonable price. The rooms are in blocks dotted around and are lovely and luxurious. The rooms are also very clean and beds comfortable. The mini bar is kept well stocked and there is plenty of essentials such as an iron, hairdryer, sowing kit, saving kit etc. Also the ground floor rooms have hammock chairs which I really love. The pool and beach areas are very nice and the hotel has its own private beach area. You can even jet ski and do water sports if you wish. The hotel has a main buffet restaurant and al a carte restaurants as well. I only eat in the main restaurant and the Italian a la carte and food is generally tasty and warm. I also eat at the outdoor barbecue near to the El Charro pool restaurant and that was very tasty for a snack or light lunch. There is a good range of drinks- alcoholic, soft drinks, cocktails and juices and bar service seems efficient. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and are on hand to help with anything you need. The entertainment was also fun- Mexican Night was very good. Riven Improvements: There was always a queue for the buffet restaurant which was annoying at times. The queue was well managed and the Italian a la carte was offered as an alternative however I can’t help but feel that there should be enough tables as there is in all other all inclusive hotels I have stayed in and perhaps the hotel could benefit with extending the buffet restaurant. There was one occasion there were not enough sun loungers anywhere on the property and I had to ask the towel guy to try and find one, although to his credit he got one from somewhere and put it onto the beach area for me. I would suggest more sun loungers be made available by looking at guest numbers prior to each day. The luggage scales that I paid 10 pesos for were broken and although not a major thing they need fixing and a sign should be put on saying ‘out of use’ so nobody else wastes money until they are fixed. Overall a lovely hotel and i would be happy to rate 5/5 on a return visit if these improvements are made.More
Had a great time
Booked our holiday through Westjet with no problems actually had an extra night at the resort given to us because of itinery changes. Resort rooms, grounds and beach all very good. We were in the region 20 years ago beach and reef has declined over that time. Staff, meals and entertainment was also very good. Nice small gym with most of the equipment in good repair. Mixed drinks were very watered down. Beer was ok. Beware of the lobby US Dollar cash ATM it will initially ask you if the $7.95 per tranaction is ok then will add another prompt for 13% on the total withdrawal just before you say yes and receive the cash. Total rip-off. Generally most of the guests were well behaved and enjoying themselves but as other older posts have indicated there is always a few rude, obnoxious and loud Americans attracting attention. Overall we would give the whole experience 9 out of 10.More
