Best time to go to Playa Mujeres
Mexico’s weather is reflective of its Caribbean address. In summer, the mercury flits between the high-20s and the mid-30s, and even in the winter months you can expect temperatures to top 28°C. There’s a little more rain in the summer months, between June and October, but it’s usually just an hour or two in the evening – the rest of the time it’s blue skies and sunshine. Mexico does see the occasional hurricane between July and October, but they’re pretty rare, and hotels are well prepared if a storm does occur.
Every year, students and young people are known to flock to Mexico for Spring Break, usually between February and April. During this time, you can expect things like foam parties, discos and bar-crawls to headline the activity offering in resorts across the country. If you've got your heart set on a more laidback getaway, we'd recommend avoiding Mexico during these months.
Just so you know, from time to time, some hotel beaches on the Caribbean Coast of Mexico are affected by an increased level of seaweed. This is known as Sargassum, which is a natural occurrence that’s influenced by weather patterns and sea currents. In some cases this can disrupt the use of beaches. Rest assured that if any of our hotels are affected by this issue, they will work hard to remove the seaweed as quickly as possible.
