Where do I even begin.... Just amazing!!!
From the moment you walk into the hotel, it is just amazing. You are welcomed with a drink as you enter and have the bell boys offer to take your luggage in for you. The reception staff were so friendly (especially Sam) who was more than happy to help with any question or query we had and were sorted before we went back to the room. The room was always clean and the fridge was always refilled every 2 days. You had a great choice of restaurants, we had the buffet, Mexican and Asian, we decided not to go into the Steakhouse but we were more than happy with what we were having as there was such a huge selection. The waitresses and waiters were very welcoming and happy to provide drinks whether it was fresh coffee in the morning or alcoholic beverages in the evening. The entertainers were the part which made our holiday, they always went the extra mile for everyone. Always with a smile on their face even at 9am they were ready to go. They work extremely hard all day and get everyone involved. We went out clubbing with them and they made sure we had the best night, a special thanks go to Mini Mee, Camilla, Fernanda, Nathaly & Uciel. Overall our experience was 5 star, couldn't fault anything and we are looking forward to going back again next year.More
I visited this hotel 8 years ago with my family, this time I went with friends and again had a great time. The hotel has been refurbished to a more modern design and looks great. I can't fault the Caribe on any level, rooms were cleaned every day, fridge filled every other day, beds were very comfortable, powerful shower. The food was plentiful something for everyone, the staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and so helpful. We had a problem with our safe which was sorted within 15 mins. We always managed to get sun beds every morning, bar staff round pool all the time.We were on the 9th floor fantastic view ( you do want a high floor ) I highly recommend this hotel and hopefully will return. Thanks to everyone at the hotel who made our holiday great.More
Top Class Hotel
Visited the Riu Caribe in the 1st week in August and was highly impressed. On arrival you are treated as a VIP and this continues throughout the stay. The rooms are of good quality and the views are picturesque. We ate at all of the individual restaurants and found them to be really tasty with a good choice. The entertainment team were innovative and always working hard to ensure everyone was having a great time. The foam party on a Thursday is a must visit. Overall the best all inclusive experience I have had. All staff are a pleasure to deal with special mentions to Cristiano and the Tui Rep Maria who due to poor Nicky's walking problems was having to work doubly hard. Book this hotel with the knowledge that you have a fun filled holidayMore
Had the best time on the all inclusive holiday. The hotel is beautiful, several restaurants to choose from, food and drink available all day. Beautiful pools, a spa with a jacuzzi. Hotel pool party! The hotel is on the beach too so you can pop to the beach any time. More
GREAT WEEK WITH THE FAMILY
Just got back from a week vacation with family and friends. We were a relatively medium sized group consisting of 4 families where we had kids ranging from 3 to 8 years old. CHECK IN We got in on Thursday October 5th around 11 am and were offered our rooms by Toto and Jenny. They were very professional and kind and offered the usual welcome drink. We were then offered a free upgrade to an ocean view room but would have to wait until 3pm. We kindly accepted their offer and headed over to Calypso buffet. The buffet was very good as it offered everything you desired from fresh fruits, fresh bbq as well as pizza and salads. We finally got our rooms around 230 pm and stayed on the 3rd floor. ROOMS We had 2 double beds that we shoved together so that the kids could sleep together. There was no issues with the rooms other than sometimes you would have 2nd hand smoke from either other rooms or bottom floor rooms that would waft into the bathroom. Again not an issue but just a heads up. Rooms were filled with alcohol, water and pop every 2 days but if you wanted a refill a quick call or a note with a little tip would definitely work. The beds were hard and the pillows were small but that should be the least of your worries. In the evenings they have a live band in the main foyer. The music and sound echoes so if you are in rooms between rooms #45 to 63 you will hear the noise and music. JUST A HEADS UP. RESTAURANTS They had 3 specialty restaurants and the main buffet. I really wished it was easier to book the a la cartes as we had a group of 14 and some days we were able to squeeze a reservation and others we were told they could not accommodate the size of our group. We celebrated 3 birthdays that week and we didn't get the reservation for the big 40th birthday but Jenny (reception) still managed to book us the following day. Thanks again Jenny for being such a great representative and accommodating our party. Again we were an easy going group and just postponed the festivities back one day. The waiters made each celebration special as they brought out a personalized birthday cake and sang for each of the celebrants. Mexican - really good and by far the biggest of the 3 a la cartes. We found the fish to be the best meal as all other options were okay. Steak house - steak was good but we found when we ordered a med rare it actually came out rare and medium well would come out as medium rare. Just another heads up for all you meat lovers out there. The steak house is located by the beach and was closed just 1 night as Tropical storm Nate barely hit our resort. Shangrila - Asian was good, Just keep in mind for an a la carte this was actually a buffet style meal. We didn't realize that it was buffet until we asked a couple sitting beside us where the menu's were located. For men, you do not need slacks or pants for the a la cartes. It was just weird for us as we would see some guys in board shorts sitting in these restaurants. Calypso - the buffet was really good but after 1 week of eating the same thing from breakfast to dinner it did get repetitive. We had no complaints from the buffet. We just wished the workers were more welcoming and would seat you. Again no big deal but it would be nice as often we would be sitting at the same location due to the size of our party. On a side note, we did notice that not many people were tipping. It may not be part of your culture to tip but 1 or 2 dollars after a meal shouldn't be a real issue. It goes a long way for these workers as the workers work 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week and only getting 1 day off. BARS Big thank you to Maya, Manuel and Fernando who served us all week at the main bar. The worked very hard and always had a smile on their faces. TOO MUCH TEQUILA but GREAT TIMES!!! All bars close at 12pm with last call at 1150. The sports bar is open 24 hrs and has small ready to go snacks (burgers, hot dogs, nachos) POOLS AND BEACH They have a quiet pool (Thursday FOAM PARTY which is a blast and a MUST DO) 2 main pools and a smaller kid pool. All were cleaned daily and there was no issues grabbing chairs by the pools. The kids loved the kiddie pool as they could walk and touch the ground with no issues. It was right beside the lunch restaurant which made things quite easy as well. PIZZA MADE TO order was always located at the bar right beside the quiet pool. Definitely better than the pizza served at the buffet and the lunch restaurant/steakhouse. Beach The beach was nice and I preferred it better than the RIU PALACE Peninsula beach which was located beside our resort. We had 3 good days where the water was so clear and blue. However due to Tropical storm Nate some days they beach was filled with seaweed which was cleaned by the staff throughout the day. There are waiters who come around occasionally to grab your drink orders. They were great and a little tip would go a long way. OVERALL This resort is a great family resort, We got a great deal and you get what you paid for. They only have spanish tv so FYI for all the parents. Our kids had no problem watching and trying to figure out what was being said on Spanish Disney channel but again just a heads up. The WIFI was pretty good as it worked well in the lobby and rooms. Sometimes it would kick you off the network on the beach or pools but a quick log in and you were good to go. Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram worked well and we had no issues calling and video chatting with our loved ones back home. We found this resort to have a lot of British and Scottish travelers. What great and welcoming people. My buddy John from Scotland gave me his Celtics jersey and I will never forget him and his family. There were few Americans and Canadians so if that is what you want this resort may not be for you. You can also go into town every night to party at the clubs as the animation staff will set you up with entry and bottle service. The resort usually is quiet once 12 oclock comes around as all the bars close. We had a great vacation and with the price we got for this resort it was definitely worth the money. CHEERSMore
