Hotel Belleville

First time in Bulgaria and the last. On entering our room there was a very strong smell of cigarettes which was accompanied by an ashtray on the side. Not happy with this we asked to move rooms and were told nothing else was available...basically put up or shut up. We put the air conditioning on to try and alleviate the problem but it was so noisy from the unit on the balcony, that we couldn’t run it for too long. Our bathroom had a persistent odour that was not very pleasant. Maid service is offered daily but from our experience it only consisted of the bed being pulled up and a replacement toilet roll daily. Sheets changed once a week and towels every three days. Meals were not very appetising, the so called bacon and egg breakfast was not very palatable, salad for breakfast is not for me. Evening meals if you were first in the queue were hot, reducing to warm and then cold. Although there is a microwave available, I was not happy to warm a meal up that was left uncovered close to a door that was continually left open. All in all not a good experience food wise. Bar meals were much better and reasonably priced, but again if sitting around the pool/eating area people are smoking. Beer is cheap and is great if you like a drink, happy hour for two hours every night on cocktails and shorts. Entertainment is almost non existent apart from bingo. This hotel is great if you smoke, allowing smoking around the pool and on the balcony’s, it does not offer no smoking areas. I am a non smoker and do not have a problem with people who do, but please an area smoke free would be great. All in all this hotel could do with being updated, some of the senior staff could do with some training on how to speak/treat customers. Having arrived on the Tuesday the Jet2 rep showed tp on the Thursday evening, which by this time a trip we would have liked to do had been and gone. Having stated some of our concerns, he offered to get our room changed, the reception staff suddenly wanted to communicate with us and help, but we declined due to being refused initially. Hair dryers can be hired for 1hour for 3 levs, safes which are kept in the reception area can be used for a fee, either shared with others or 40levs for your own. This is somewhere we will not visit again. You only get what you pay for...in this case not a lot

Fawlty towers came here for a week we arrived the receptionist wasn’t helpful it was like she didn’t want to be here. the safe are in the reception not in the room it’s 40lv a week got to our room I got 1 smack next door to my parents but there was a door between our rooms so if I got a key I could open it to go to my parents instead of going out of the room and going next door there no balcony in room 407 and it’s a walking shower I should have had that room but my mum was assistant to have it because more wardrobe space this looked like it had been decorated as they asked me if they could take a photo for jet 2 to advertise room. I was in ok room but need decorating new carpets think all the hotel needs lock of paint to be honest Wifi u can get round pool bar for free but if u want it in your room it’s 3lv=£1.50 a hour The food at tea you got to get there early as it will be warm and if u go in middle it will be cold or none left like we found out on Wednesday the breakfast is disgusting cold bacon green eggs runny beans I ate out for breakfast as my dad told me that it was not nice plus I can’t eat anything oil as it upsets my stomach so went to McDonald’s on my way to sunny beach. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere because in September Bulgaria shut down end of September so all shops and pub restaurant shut down around the hotel there pub across what open but nobody goes there it 20minutes to get Sunny beach if u walk or it’s 1.30lv on a bus or 4lv to get on train. You can’t walk to Nesbar but do not get a train as u got to get off at bottom of the roundabout and then pay another 4lv to get on another train to get to nesbar but the train u can get from across road from bakery do not get in a taxi as there very pricey George the bar staff is friendly bingo starts at 9pm and it’s 5lv for 3 cards or 10lv for a stripe you win 10lv for a line and full house 50lv happy hour should be 8.30pm while 10:30pm but it’s 8pm while 10pm now if u get eg vodka and coke u get half a pint vodka and bottle coke in happy hour would not come here again would go again but more into sunny beach

I didn't personally stay at this hotel however I had family that did. I stayed in a bigger hotel further up the road however I spent most of my time at this hotel. Staff were very very friendly and the owners are lovely. The bar staff are very friendly and a very eager to ensure you have a good time. the pool is small but sufficient for the size of the hotel and there were plenty of sunbeds. This is a very relaxed and chilled hotel. The rooms are a decent size and the showers are big enough. This hotel is a little bit further away from flower street and a lot of the restaurants however it is opposite the bus stop that can take you there for 1.30lv. and it's on the same side of the bus stop that will take you to nessebar. it is also opposite where you can catch the train to sunny beach itself, and it's within a 10-minute walk if that to the beach (the free beach). I can't comment on the food that comes with the half board option however the food you can buy at lunch from the bar car is very tasty and very reasonably priced
