Our All Inclusive holidays to Zanzibar showcase this Tanzanian island’s top-class shores and colourful countryside.
Sightseeing in Stone Town
Zanzibar’s capital city – conveniently called Zanzibar City – is home to one of the island’s UNESCO-protected jewels, Stone Town. This old quarter dates back to the 1st century, and is the perfect place to learn about Zanzibar’s history – African, Arabian, Indian and European colonialists all set up shop here at some point over the years. Its collection of notable mainstays includes a big Catholic cathedral and the old slave market – Stone Town was a popular pit-stop for slave traders during voyages from Africa to the Middle East.
Five-star sands
Zanzibar’s waterfront has all the hallmarks of an A-grade beachfront – think silk-soft sand, toasty water, rows of palm trees and rustic sea-view bars. You’ll find the finest swathes clustered around the village of Marumbi – on the east coast – and the northern hamlet of Nungwi. The former also serves as a popular snorkelling and scuba diving spot, whereas Nungwi is known for its snow-white sands.
Colourful countryside
Head inland and you’ll see why Zanzibar’s nicknamed the Spice Island. The countryside here’s dotted with plantations that grow some of Zanzibar’s main exports, including cloves, vanilla, nutmeg and black pepper. If you’re based in Marumbi, you’re also close to the Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, where you can see some of the island’s rarest residents in the wild – red colobus monkeys.
Hotels in Zanzibar
Our All Inclusive hotels are dotted around some of the island’s main resorts, including Marumbi, Nungwi and Kiwengwa. They all boast beachfront postcodes and a variety of restaurants – including buffet and à la carte numbers.
