    BRITISH HOLIDAYMAKERS PLANNING FURTHER IN ADVANCE THAN EVER TO SECURE SUMMER SUN

    TUI’s earliest Summer holiday launch has already seen thousands book holidays well over a year ahead

    • Families overwhelmingly took advantage of the early sales offering free kids, low deposits and favouring mid-haul hotspots’
    • TUI is launching a further 2,000 hotels to its 2020 programme this April following initial launch in November, five months earlier than usual

    2 April 2019 – Over 100,000 Brits looking to escape the UK in search of summer sun have already booked their summer 2020 holiday, proving they’re still planning ahead to take advantage of early sales offer initiatives such as free kids, low deposits and securing their preferred hotel, airport and destination.

    TUI launched its summer 2020 programme five months earlier than usual last November as a response to consumer behaviour, with more customers wanting to book earlier, especially families. On April 25th TUI is adding a further 2,000 hotels to its 2020 programme and further sales initiatives including a recently launched direct debit scheme.

    Mid haul hotspots have made up over 60% of bookings with Brit favourites Cyprus and Canaries proving popular and families booking family friendly resorts such as First Choice Holiday Village, TUI Family Life and Splashworld concepts all featuring in the top 10 performing units. Disney induced haven Florida has also been a popular long-haul option for those with kids. Luxury resorts are also in demand as over 15,000 passengers have already booked 5T platinum hotels for their 2020 summer holiday proving Brits want to pay over time to enjoy a luxurious getaway.  The Greek islands, including Rhodes, Kos and Zakynthos are also performing strongly for Summer 2020.

    TUI launched early knowing there was a demand in the market ready to book across beach and cruise holidays. Richard Sofer, Commercial Director at TUI said: “People are in the market to book their perfect holiday as this is something that is always important to them, by booking early customers can secure their favourite destinations and ensure they maximise their value for money with our great offers. We have seen a really positive response since launching our programme even earlier than usual and we are pleased to be adding further hotels to our 2020 summer offering.”
