Solterra Resort

Booked through Ocean Florida, 4079 Oak Tree Drive, Solterra resort, Davenport. Fabulous villa for our family of 9. Well thought out but couple of wee niggles - missing the long mirror for the ladies, make up mirror in bedrooms and big lack of cutlery - these were tiny points and they did not spoil the fabulous time we spent in Florida. Great area and would highly recommend

We had a terrible experience at a rental home located at 6113 Broad Oak Dr, which is within this subdivision. During our stay, we experienced several serious issues that I believe violate the subdivision’s standards and may impact the quality of life for nearby residents. The property was poorly maintained, and we saw roaches inside the home and around the shared/common areas. The overall condition of the house was unacceptable. Even more concerning, the owner was staying or sleeping in the garage, which felt unprofessional and made us uncomfortable. There were also too many vehicles parked at the property, including some parked on the grass and in restricted areas, which caused a lot of inconvenience and made the surroundings look messy. It’s really disappointing to see a property like this being operated in such a careless way within what should be a nice, peaceful neighborhood. I hope the subdivision takes a closer look and enforces better standards before it affects the rest of the community.

We booked a wonderful house in this community for our family of 12. The house was incredible, however, due to our terrible experience with the resort, it would be hard to recommend booking a home here. After arriving and checking in, we went to purchase a group pass for the resort amenities, including the pool, lazy river, and water slide. We like to book places like this because it offers ample entertainment for the kids on days when we're not visiting a theme park or other attraction. However, we were informed that the water amenities were shut down due to a lightning storm. This is understandable, accidents happen, acts of nature happen. However, this closure lasted for 4 days! Half of our trip was over, and we had counted on the resort to be a significant source of entertainment. When we finally did get to enjoy the amenities, we found that it was their standard procedure to close the water features if there was a lightning strike anywhere within a 15 mile radius, that too is understandable, but the slide had to remain closed for a full hour after each strike. In Florida during the summer, that essentially meant the water park was shut down all afternoon. We found the staff rude, and we got the impression that they really didn't want people using their facilities and were making use of every excuse to shut down their amenities. This was really a shame, because we loved the house. However, if you plan on booking Solterra, I would recommend you have plenty of alternative plans and that you don't expect to be able to use their water park.
