Another great stay
Just back from another great 2 week stay at this hotel. In a fantastic location with excellent facilities and very accommodating staff the Rosen Inn @Pointe Orlando tick a lot of boxes. The evening restaurant food needs some upgrading and two staff in the bar can be quite abrupt. Don't let those criticisms put you off though....this is a great place to stay while in Orlando.More
This hotel is sited right on international drive in an excellent location for everything that's going on. Shuttle buses are available to book the night before for any park activity you may be doing. The onsite buffet restaurant serves breakfast and dinner at a reasonable price and has a decent choice, servers are helpful and polite.as are all staff in the hotel. The hotel shop has a good choice of products at very reasonable prices, there is also food available in the shop which also serves as a cafe with an eating area just outside it. Onsite lounge bar also serves food and 2 happy hours for your drinking needs. Gift shop also has a coffee machine and some snacks available. The hotel has 3 pools with a towel service provided and loungers around the pool area. Rooms are well equipped with plenty of USB ports in the alarm clock and tv, there are 2 double beds in the family rooms and are really comfortable. A hair drier is provided and also an ironing board and iron. While the rooms are comfortable they may be a little on the small side for a large family, we are a family of 3 adults and one child (11) and storage space for clothes and toiletries etc were at bursting point. Laundry facilities and ice making machines are provided in each block. It's a lovely hotel with many returning guests of which we shall be one. More
An excellent hotel! My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks at the end of September and we loved it! Before we travelled, I asked if we could request an upgraded room for our wedding anniversary, to which they managed to accommodate for us. I also requested a bottle of champagne to be in the room for us arriving and there it was with the exact message I wanted to leave. The room we had was great - we were in block C on the first floor up. A great position to be in, very close to the main reception and the 24 hour shop. We had a double bed which was the comfiest bed we've ever slept in - helped us sleep after the very busy days that we had at all the theme parks! There was a TV, however, we never used it. Plenty of storage space in the room, iron/ironing board as standard as well as a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and hair-dryer. Couldn't have asked for anything better to be honest. We had the same cleaner in every day, who did a great job of looking after us - she changed the towels every day, provided us with fresh soap, new coffee cups, etc. The shop I mentioned was open 24 hours and had a wide range of items available - from soft drinks to alcohol, crisps, biscuits, chocolate, holiday essentials such as tablets or toothpaste you have forgotten. You could also get yourself bagels, croissants for those quick snacks before you head out for the day. The bar in the hotel, Zebra's opened from 4pm everyday and it was great to eat and drink, with a great atmosphere. You could get a pint of Bud for $4.50 and during the happy hours, you could get a dollar off as well - all these people who say the hotel is expensive for drinks, I dread to think where you've been drinking! We ate a few times for breakfast and tea in the hotel restaurant. It was a buffet style meal for both and they were both great. Breakfast was just what you wanted before you went out for the day and tea was great if you hadn't managed to catch something whilst out. The hotel itself was a great place to stay - a great location - just over the road was Pointe Orlando where you could grab a bite to eat or get a few drinks. The I-Ride trolley had a stop literally outside the hotel, making it easy to get around. The only thing that lets this hotel down is the Universal Shuttle buses. They have set times in which they leave the hotel - on the morning, you have to book on and get a ticket (not a problem to do) but as we were going to Universal for the Halloween Horror Nights, we wanted to utilise the buses for these as well. On an evening, you are not expected to get a ticket and simply wait at the set times you are given. We were always there well before the times, and twice, a bus didn't even turn up. The second time it did this, we asked the lady behind the desk in the hotel for Universal, who said the previous bus had been late due to traffic so asked us to wait. After 45 minutes of waiting, the bus did turn up, however, the bus driver then said she wasn't going back to Universal anymore. This then meant we had to make alternative arrangements. The bus also had set times in which it would come back to Universal on an evening to take us back, the latest one being 12am. Again, on two separate occasions, the bus didn't bother turning up (and we were there well before the 12am time) so had to get a cab back, costing us $14 each time. Not good! The above point about the bus would not put us off returning to this hotel, but we would like to see the service improve - after all, just because there is traffic on the road shouldn't mean that the bus doesn't turn up at all! Great value for money, great location, great staff; just requires a better bus service to Universal! More
A great hotel
Stayed here last ten days. Convenient position, 4miles universal, 2iles sea world, when you book in they take a credit/debit card swipe from you no money is taken it just pending then goes off from yr account. Rooms are fine, 2double or larger beds, we emailed for a pool view to keep eye on kids but have to have adult under 14yrs at pool. We got our view. 3pools , we always had sunbeds, never packed.coffee and coffee machine, hair dryer, iron iron board. Tv.Very small bathroom but sink, fridge microwave section has sliding doors so bit extra space to change if needed. Air con/heating very good. We had trouble with the safe but came straight away to fix. Road bit busy but won't disturb yr sleep on pool side. There are free shuttles to universal , use these even if you have car its 25 dollars to park there. They are from the hotel, you have to book. Out front is the i-ride bus. . No. 18 on the hotel side will take you to sea world for 2dollars .- Stop 28. No..18 bus stop across the road will take you to bus stop 10 near the world's biggest McDonalds. On the hotel side from 18 will take you to stop 27 aquatica. To pay on the i-ride is 2dollars each ride in notes only correct ones only. Or a weekly or 14day pass which you can buy from yr rep. Lots of gift shops, pirate golf, eating places, the hotel do a coach to Disney for 17dollars each return, and our rep did one for 14 dollars return to epcot but you just get free monorail to Disney , which you board at the i-ride stop 18 outside the hotel. . Check return times. . The free prebooked bus to universal comes outside the hotel front, takes you straight there, if your going to volcano bay jump off at universal and the bus stop behind has the free bus to volcano bay. Check times on the bus stop for return usually 4.30, 5.25 6.20 and so forth. On each floor facing the lifts in the hotel are a drinks and ice machine, and on the 4th floors are washers/dryers. We paid when we booked the holidayfor breakfast as its 8.95 each, children under 9eat free with each paying adult. It worked out about 5dollars each when booked . It's cereal, yoghurts fruit, cooked breakfast, pastries, tea coffee juice, a good choice. We ate there for tea is 12.95 each, but when bill came it was 70 for 4of us, tax, 14% service charge and 6 for juice as we thought it was included. Again a good choice and all you can eat buffets. Staff are helpful, room is cleaned everyday. You can buy almost everything from their shops in the hotel, in the gift shop you can buy hot drinks too and salads, drinks, toasties, cheese and warm snacks in the lie-bites. Altogether a good hotel with lots of convenience s. Our rep was there everyday very early and very helpful. One last thing if you have a printed out sheet to get into theme parks please remember to take i.d for the lead name . Sorry its so long but wanted to give as much info as i know.More
