Sinem Hotel & Apartments

hotel is brilliant, always helpful, always wanted to help you , very clean, room was cleaned everyday, manages was lovely. wife&husband and son was always there so if anything was the matter they was there to sort it out. i would defo recommend it to other people and will defo be going back again. As with everything in life you get what you pay for. This was our first visit toTurkey and this review is 100% accurate. We booked through TUI on a B&B basis and requested a low floor, upon arrival (04.00am) we where immediately met at the gate by a polite guy who showed us through to reception who issued us with our room key asked for our passports and showed us to our room (all very simple and with no fuss) our room was 507 on the third floor, the room was an attic room (I didn't even know such rooms in a hotel existed and definitely was not mentioned anywhere in our booking references) but a 4 in the morning we just wanted to get a couple of hours sleep, we decided to change rooms spoke to the owners son (I think) and without any fuss he agreed to give us another room we just had to come back later in the day (we then changed our minds and stayed in 507) we informed the guy again and it was no issue. Our room was equipped with a fridge (free of charge) but we had to pay for A/C & Safe all pretty standard in our opinion, the room had morning sunshine / balcony overlooked the road and the pool of another apartment block nothing exciting but I have overlooked worse / bathroom if you are not very mobile getting in and out of the shower maybe a problem as it is quite high sided and not very big / the room was small two single beds some storage and a dressing table. Hotel, out of the 10 nights we stayed one night we where disturbed by a young couple arguing and shouting but some people just cannot handle a beer on holidays, a guy in his 70s was in the hotel drunk at 4pm being an arse in my opinion but his wife soon sorted him out. Sunbeds yes people reserve sunbeds and go back to bed (this is a personal bug bear of mine if you reserve beds and yes I have stay with the beds until your family join you easy) but there was always a sunbed to be found. Pool, this was quite deep tbh not great for younger children, the pool area was always washed down every evening around 8 oclock. Ants, to many ants around the pool area maybe some ant powder would have killed them off but I am sure there is some health & safety document stopping them from doing this. Bar, the bar area was very reasonably priced for beers / water / soft drinks / crisps and ice creams so we always had a beer. Food, we only ate once at lunch time and didn't really enjoy it, although people did eat in the evenings and the food looked ok (one evening I think the owners wife cooked lamb chops over an open fire for him this would happen in many other hotels). Location, turn left out of the hotel cross over the main road (some cars stop some don't but always watch out for the scooters) and you are on the beach (10 minute walk at the outside), Migros (local supermarket) is on the same route but we found the migros by the Blue Port shopping complex much better. Marmaris, the main centre of Marmaris is a 25 walk away including Bar Street and was not really to our liking however the harbour area and restaurants where very nice and prices are comparable to the restaurants local to the hotel (if you prefer authentic designer shops these can be found over the bridge by the harbour). Both Marmaris & Icmeler can be accessed by a bus 6 lira for two people these buses get very busy and sometimes you may have to wait. Beach, the beach isn't the best if you like golden sand however, Tiger Tavern has white sand of sorts this never gets hot under the foot free beds and wifi but you must buy a couple of drinks and the food is good yet again all reasonable priced and "elvis" on the beach will keep coming to you and checking the bill as he said to me "we don't want to rip people off as we want you to come back" wise words in my opinion, Vamos beach bar has huge daybeds and nice sunbeds although the sand (shingle based) gets very hot, they also have a "jetty" with comfortable seating looks great tbh, food (great snack menu, fajitas & Singapore chow mein very nice) and drink both very good and reasonable priced, all beach bars offer free wifi and sunbeds. Evening meals Marmaris, Amore (good and music later on), Resturants around the harbour good (ottoman kebeb for two recommended), try Andys for a steak. Icmeler Both Ida & Champagne bar were very good, Svegi bar in Icemeler was very good and the cheapest we found, beer wise. Shopping, so many shops selling the same clothing/bags/shoes/trainers, we preferred Icmeler as a holiday resort but the beach areas as previously mentioned where better in Marmaris. Overall yes we would go back to both Turkey and Sinem after all we paid £700 B&B for two for 10 days you get what you pay for, Sinem has a lot of repeat guests and in June the average age group was 40s - 60s (we went in June). NOTE, TO ANY SMOKING HOLIDAY MAKERS JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN SMOKE WHEN PEOPLE ARE EATING DONT YOU CANNOT DO IT AT HOME AS IT IS RUDE AND OFFENSIVE TO OTHERS AND ITS STILL RUDE AND OFFENSIVE WHILST ON HOLIDAYS.

VERY STRICT & UNFRIENDLY OWNERS that don’t man the reception area and are CONSTANTLY laying down there own laws ACTUALLY making your HOLIDAY visit seem more like a jail sentence ! Than a HOLIDAY, We prepaid for two weeks and there was four of us but it was very uncomfortable when owners were around or whenever you asked them for something, it’s was very strange as if you mentioned a problem to them they made you feel like your disturbing there holiday? Rather than enjoying your own :/ WHEN we asked to move rooms as we ordered double beds they made us ask and explain for like half hour why we needed to switch rooms and they spoke & understood English very well, the room was so hot even at 03:00am when we arrived, no one in reception and they wanted £58 extra for air? £15 for tv? £10 for safe deposit? And £10 for fridge? Fridge? Then £10 for kettle our travel agent said it was B & B however nothing included at all and the breakfast was terrible. THE ONLY SAD THING is the HOTEL is a great LOCATION & HAS FANTASTIC STAFF that work very long hours and are very NICE but are on very LITTLE pay... it’s a shame as it’s the owners that ruin the HOTEL & HOLIDAY... they even had the tenacity to take alcohol off guests (southern comfort) that drank it in bar area and THEN were selling it BEHIND BAR next day WOW!!! We tipped the staff & cleaners as like we said they worked hard BUT WE WILL NEVER STAY at the SINEM ‘owners from hell’ HOTEL AGAIN.. Good look if you do
