Holidays to Kemer are set in the Antalya area of southwest Turkey, between the Taurus Mountains and the Med. It’s home to the Blue Flag-approved Moonlight Bay, and local landmarks include Roman ruins and a cable car that takes you to the peak of Mount Olympos.
Town, country, beach, mountains – this resort in southwest Turkey has got a bit of everything. In the centre, you’ve got boutiques, bazaars and bars, together with a chic marina moored with jet setters’ yachts. While further out, there are Roman ruins and national parks. Make tracks for Mount Olympos, and you can catch a cable car to its peak for a panoramic view of it all.
You’ve got two beaches here. Moonlight Bay is a fine-sand-and-shingle affair, and a Blue Flag winner for its clean water. The second beach, meanwhile, is pebbly, with deeper water. A modern marina splits the two, and it's edged by the town’s more upscale restaurants. There’s also a beachside prom, lined with shops and boutique hotels.
Kemer springs to life in the after dark, with everything from pool bars, cocktail lounges and late-night clubs to dip into. In and around the marina, there are more live-music bars and pubs – they’re the ideal spot to kick back with a glass of the local raki and watch the sun go down over the yachts.
