View All DealsHilltop hikes, daytrips to Bodrum, and boat rides around the rugged coast.
As one of Turkey’s lesser-known resorts, Guvercinlik guarantees a holiday with a big helping of the chill factor. This Turkish village is often bypassed for the brighter lights of Bodrum on the south-west coast – but don’t miss a trick, because there’s plenty to see and do here. Highlights include boat trips to mysterious Salih Island and hikes in the hills that back Guvercinlik’s harbour.
The location of this place lends itself to all kinds of daytrips. Stay local and learn about the flora and fauna that clad this rugged bit of coast, or explore the cave-studded seashore by boat. Alternatively, branch out and visit the neighbours – like buzzy Bodrum, which is a 20-minute drive away. You could also spend a day in the rustic village of Bogazici, or get to know Golturkbuku – a resort that’s popular with Turkey’s wealthy.
Guvercinlik hasn’t got a proper beach, although there are jetties around the bay where you can sit and eye up the scenery. You can also book to go water-skiing or jump on a boat trip. Secluded inlets, hidden coves and uninhabited islands freckle this part of Turkey, and it’s all very beautiful from the water – the whole bay’s coated in hues of green and blue.
