All round '5 star' holiday
This was a first class holiday in every respect. The room was exactly what we expected, spotlessly clean, view over a pool, quiet with a comfy bed! Every member of staff was polite, willing to help (not that we needed help with anything) and clearly enjoyed their job. The hotel never felt busy and there were plenty of places to sit and relax, read and watch the world go by. The pools were beautiful, we only used the pool towards the back of the complex which suited us perfectly. It was fairly quiet (compared to the front of the hotel), there were plenty of loungers and again spotlessly clean. The food was excellent and there was a wide range of choice for every meal and with some items cooked to order. Delicious! I will be looking to make a trip back as soon as I possibly can!!More

Hello just to let anyone thinking of booking this hotel not to hesitate at all.wonderful hotel spotlessly clean amazing food in both restaurants and excellent pools and sunbathing areas.we upgraded to deluxe and what a great experience in the vulcano restaurant totally committed manager who runs his restaurant superbly very precise with his attention to all guests at tables.the animation team deserve 100% praise for the way they are so much hoping all guests around the pools and at evening shows have the best time of their lives. Very special mention to Marta and Jordy these two are the nicest most lovable people who you would want to show you fun on your holiday.they are so energetic and laugh and smile all the time .would certainly come back again without any hesitation as this was to celebrate our 25 th wedding anniversary and both my husband and myself will go home with special happy memories thank you to all amazing staff from reception to bars to restaurants and animation teams and thank u Anita head reception for the lovely gesture of champagne and chocolates for our special day xxxxxxMore
Great Hotel, Great Location
This was our second stay at the hotel, this time on a half board basis. Initially we were a bit disappointed that we could not book b&b this year, but staying half board turned out to be a great option. The food was amazing, so much choice and such good quality. We always chose to sit outside on the terrace which provided a lovely atmosphere (lighting inside would be better slightly dimmed). We stayed in a standard room with a view at the rear of the hotel overlooking the pool. We were extremely happy with the location and comfort of the room (3265) and would request the same room in the future. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is fabulous, central for the Marina, Dorada beach, and a little further to the Flamingo beach. Great location for a stroll along the sea. Absolutely love this hotel and are already planning our return next year.More

A little misleading
We have just return from a week break at this hotel First the good stuff: The hotel is classed as a 4* which based on what reviewers base their ratings on I would agree, to an extent. Not too far from the beach, which is lovely, the sea is crystal clear & even paddling you're doing so with fish. The hotel itself is lovely as are the grounds, very clean. The pool area is well catered for with ample sunbeds, parasols, bar etc. The rooms are very spacious we had a comfort double but think we may have been put into a family room as there were 4 double beds. The staff are very friendly The resort is lovely, if you turn right out of the rear of the hotel there are lots of lovely restaurants along the promenade, turn left & a little walk straight down you come to the Mariana, again lots of lovely restaurants. I would say the resort is more for families & older couples, we did not see much in the way of bars, clubs etc if you want that Puerto Del Carmen is your place. Now the not so good stuff: Every 4* + I have stayed in you have tea making facilities in your room along with a mini bar, you only get this here if you pay to stay deluxe & that was heavily pushed. Originally we were going to book Deluxe but changed our mind last minute & i'm glad we did, don't bother, for the amount you are going to pay the facilities they say that are offered to Deluxe guests are not worth the money. The so called Deluxe area was 2 sections cordoned off by the pool with padded sun loungers, different parasols & some astro turf! You get a separate restaurant for dinner but have to join the commoners for breakfast & lunch. The photos show what looks like hooded seating in the pool area, there were 3 & the area was set back from the pool, much preferred where we were, poolside. If you go half board & charge drinks etc to your room check the prices you are paying as some people were charged a different price for the same drinks on quite a few occasions. If you charge anything to your room, check your summary. On our first night we had a bottle of Cava for 18 Euros, they said they did not have that one but gave us an alternative but neglected to tell us that was 40 Euros, you are asked to sign the order chitty but no prices are on there, to be fair to the hotel when we queried it they checked the slips & reduced it to the 18 Euros so we have no complaints there, just check. the food in the hotel restaurant was OK, quite repetitive & loaded with salt so beware. Hotel entertainment, well the first night we arrived the 'entertainment' team did a tribute to different pop stars, well, just watching them I felt highly embarrassed for them, it was awful, luckily it was their last night, god knows what would happen during high season! The rest of the week had professional/semi-professional entertainment in, what we saw was good & enjoyable. We would stay here again but we would only do B&B as the restaurants outside of the hotel were lovely & very reasonably priced. However we found out it's now under new management & they no loner offer B&B which is a shame. Negatives aside, we had a lovely holiday & did enjoy our time at this hotelMore
