Second time here
Wife and I visited the Bluebay for the second time and had a ball. We'd been before but with our son in tow this time we expected to stay in the hotel more than we do usually. My wife's a fussy eater so the real test of any all inclusive is if there's something there for her, thankfully with enough variation there wasnt a day we had to go elsewhere, though we did because eating out is very cheap and Costa Teguise isn't short of good places for food. Like any AI, food can seem repetitive but it wasn't something which bothered us. If you do venture out but don't want to go far, the Chinese restaurant around the corner is one if the best, and if you fancy a good full English the Cavern isn't too far either. Into the middle of the resort, check out Bluebells in the square for pints at €2 (Rangers games shown live), The Dolphin down near the beach for sports and good British pub food and 21st Century which has an amazing Chinese buffet. And Vali for the best cocktails. The staff were excellent. Our son is only one and a half and all the staff took time out to talk to him in the restaurant and keep him smiling and laughing while the animation team did well to keep the kids entertained at the disco. The bar staff were always cheery while reception were always helpful. Previously when we'd been we rarely visited the entertainment, with our boy here this time we made sure he enjoyed the kids disco (absolutely knackered him out). There's a decent singer on at least once a week while other nights included a Spanish singer (not my cup of tea), parrot show, birds of prey show, an acrobat and a magician. And karaoke. Entertainment wasn't the best overall but they do their best to put a variety of things on. The rooms - basic but with all you'd need, and air conditioning and cooking facilities. Good standard for what you pay. Only saw two cockroaches in the bathroom, both times when I'd left the bathroom window open. Beds and towels changed and bins out most days, my only complaint about the rooms is how much of your neighbours you can hear when they're "moving furniture" and the guy's partner is wholeheartedly agreeing with his take on feng shui. That may be more down to their enthusiasm than the sound proofing mind you. The pool bar does a variety of snacks, has a large area to sit out on but I'd suggest opening this at night. The indoor bar is fine but to be able to sit out and have a few drinks (without running in and out for more) would be a big difference. I guess it stops crowds sitting out and making noise though. Location - it's outside the resort centre but it's not a long walk away. A taxi is only €3.5 to the square and the hotel has buses running to the beach throughout the morning and afternoon. Costa Teguise isn't a big resort but it's packed with lots of great bars and restaurants and it's size is its main appeal. There's play parks dotted around the resort for kids and there's plenty of buses running to Arrecife, PDC and beyond if you want to explore further. My previous visit was in 2015, and there have been a number of improvements around the hotel, so it's clear to see they've taken on feedback and tried to make the hotel better. Overall it's a good hotel and we'll be back again. We have to, I forgot to hand in our room key on the way out... More
I spent the whole week in the Blue Hotel in Costa Teguise. It was very nice time. The hotel is very well located, the rooms are large, the bathrooms are also big. There are also terraces where you can spend nice time. In the restaurant there is a wide range of food and everyone can eat well and healthy. Of course it is only three star hotel but it’s a good value for money.More
A few nights away at BlueBay Lanzerote..
Myself and my boyfriend stayed at Bluebay for a short break on 12th -> 15th November. After reading a few negative reviews before arriving I was a little weary - but it was lovely! The hotel is only approx 15mins from the airport - we had a transfer coach but this took over an hour as we were the last stop - so to get a taxi would be quicker and I can’t see it being too expensive for a 15min journey. On arrival there was a big que at reception - with only one member of reception staff working so it took quite a while. But the lady was very friendly and got us checked in nice and smoothly. Our room number was B204 - lovely room, 1 bedroom, lounge, kitchen, bathroom and balcony with a pool view. We had lunch by the pool bar on the first day which was a nice variety - the usual burgers, hot dogs, chips, pancakes, fruit etc. The breakfast, evening and lunch meals in the restaurant again had a nice variety and the staff where very friendly. The all inclusive drinks selection was great - so much to choose from - beers, wine, spirits, cocktails! The swimming pool area was nice - the pool itself was freezing but refreshing! There is a pool table and table tennis table next to the pool. And an entertainment team that try to get people involved playing football, tennis etc. The nearest shop is only about 3mins round the corner, the beach is only a 10min walk away which is a nice walk and restaurants are also only a short walk away if you fancied a meal out rather than the all inclusive buffet. - as people have said on other reviews - if you want a safe you need to pay (which you do at most hotels anyway), towels you need to pay (again same as most hotels) but you may as well bring your own beach towel or buy one from the shop around corner for €3.99! The TV is fuzzy so if you need tele you do need to pay for that too - we didn’t bother as it was only 3 nights. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Bluebay Lanzerote and would recommend for a cheap, sunny, all inclusive break away!More
Ideal for a week in the sun.
The hotel was fine, no major problems. Decent variety of food each day. Hotel rooms were good. Cleaned regularly. Staff friendly. The room where the entertainment was, was far too hot, it was uncomfortable at times, as there were no doors to open. Entertainment was ok. Good place to go with small children, We did the short south tour. Totally recommend that.More
