BlueBay Lanzarote

I visited with my two adult children. The room was lovely the hotel fantastic the food was decent although they could maybe cater for vegans too. Thw staff wwre very amiable and couldnt do enough for you. We are planning a return trip next year with more people.

Just returned from an 11 night stay at the BlueBay. We’ve been to Costa Teguise previously so know the resort very well but first time at this particular hotel. We arrived following an early morning flight, getting to the hotel by 11:30am to be told that our room would not be available until 3,which was fine, but that we could use the facilities & go back to reception at 2 as room may be available. We returned just after 2 to receive short shrift from Laura on reception that the room wasn’t available until 3. When we were given our room we were given a ground floor room despite requesting a high floor. Electric sockets were hanging off the wall. No high floor was available until the following day so we had to make do on our first night but with help from TUI we were allocated a high floor on the second day and in fairness it was directly above our original room so transfer was quite quick for us. We were eventually allocated a decent room in block E overlooking the tennis courts. As we had a late flight home we requested that we keep the room but this was declined and we were not offered any facilities to have a shower to freshen up so had to have a wash in one of the public toilets which was obviously very unsatisfactory. The food provided at meal times was very average. At breakfast I’d usually just have a bacon baguette or cereal. Fruit was plentiful however. It appeared that there was a cost cutting exercise ongoing with air conditioning being turned off in the dining room on regular occasions which made the room very warm & tough conditions for the staff to work in. The rooms were spacious & kept clean by the maid service so no complaints with that although the key card to open our door was awful & took at least 20 attempts to open it on every occasion. The pool area was fine with plentiful sun beds & a large pool so that I could enjoy a swim while others could do what they wanted. I would like to thank the lifeguard who offered his goggles for me to borrow for my daily swims. Thank you Sir, much appreciated. We didn’t get involved with day time activities so unfair to comment however evening entertainment was very hit & miss. Some acts were excellent but some awful. The animation team worked hard from what I could see. The bar areas were kept clean with empty glasses cleared regularly and all bar staff were very friendly as were the dining room staff. The location of the hotel is good, being 10/15 minutes walk to the main resort. I would recommend a walk through Playa Bastian towards the promenade as that is a nice walk around to the resort too.
