Great place to stay
We spent a week in a one bedroomed apartment in this fairly small complex and had a lovely holiday. The kitchen was fairly well-equipped and clean with a kettle, microwave, washing machine, toaster and cooker. A dish drying cloth, wiping up cloth, dish washing brush and some washing up liquid were all provided. There were no 'little extras' that you sometimes get in apartments like salt/ pepper/ washing powder etc. The apartment was cleaned 5 times a week; we didn’t find that the staff called round early as one of the other reviewers did. Beds were changed once during our stay, and towels twice. It says in the website that there is a deposit to pay for beach towels, but they didn’t ask for this. It was great not to have to take beach towels in our luggage. There is a free safe in each apartment. The apartment was spacious enough for two, but although it could accommodate three, it would have been a bit of a squeeze. The balcony was nice, but we would have liked sun beds as other larger apartments had. The shower was great – almost too hot - and the bathroom was a reasonable size. There was a 30 euro charge for a week’s internet and 50 euros for two weeks. We managed without, going into reception to use the free Wifi when we needed access. The small supermarket in reception is handy although a bit pricey. I liked the pool area; it was always quiet (we were there in mid October) and the pool was nice and clean. There is a life guard there between about 10. 00 am and 4.00 pm which is great, particularly for parents with children. The snack bar was nice too, with friendly and helpful staff and pretty good food. The courtesy bus, to and from Amadores, was useful (10.00, 10.30 and 11.00 am down, and 3.00, 3.30 and 4.00 pm back). One time a couple who had arrived at the waiting area in the town after us, jumped in front to get on the bus when it arrived (grrrr!), so there was no room for us. The driver very kindly came back to pick us up. The apartments are half way up a steep hill, so we tended to walk down and taxi (anything between 3 and 5 euros depending on the time of day), or use the courtesy bus, to get back up. We discovered that if we turned left out of the apartments and walked up the hill, staying on the ‘top’ road, we came to an area with supermarkets and plenty of good eating places. This was easier than walking into the town and there was a fantastic view of Puerto Rico (which is closer than you think) in the evening when it was all lit up. The staff, particularly Manuel, were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and they were there until midnight each night. I would recommend these apartments, but you do need to be aware of the steep hill to get there from the beach area. It could have been further up the hill, so that’s a blessing!More
Stayed for a week in Oct 2017 All the staff we met were helpful and friendly cleaners did a great job tidying up after us All outside areas Very clean pool was lovely and the pool bar did lovely food pity it closed at 6 pm The only downside was it was far up the hill and you had to Taxi everywhere although taxis were plentiful There was a free mini bus up and down to the beach If you had a hired car it would be an ideal base to explore the island We had a 2 bed apartment and 4 of us stayed we had plenty space There was a great shower not such a great hairdryer Pool towels were available so no need to take beach towels Small supermarket at the apartments with all the essentials Kitchen was well equipped if you wanted to cook More
Fantastic, apartments very well equipped and maintained.
So unbelievably friendly. Reception staff - all of them would always help with a smile Ismael was a star! We had 2 different apartments, both were excellent; comfy lounge area, great kitchen (would be very easy to cook and serve a full meal) washer, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer etc, etc. Super balconies with great views. Even in rooms that supposedly do not have a sea view you can see the coast. Housekeeping and maintenance staff very attentive, they should be proud of the job they do. Great little shop, lovely pool area and snack/drinks bar. Can not rate these apartments highly enough.More
The hotel was good and the receptionists were service minded. The pool area was ok, good food, great service, nice view but small area. Two nice bedrooms but the sleeping couch in the living room was not very comfortable and the cleanliness was not good. We got bedclothes that were dirty with brown spots several times. This was disgusting. The maids was waking us up every morning 09.30 asking is they could clean the room. And come back every half hour.More
Really happy with our villa for a week in Amadores. The Air Conditioning makes the room absolutely wonderful, as does the decor and facilities. Some really nice attention to detail in the decor. The kitchenette utensils are so clean that it looks like they have never been used before! Perfection! There's a very small mini market in reception so that you can get essential supplies, or Spar is just down the road with a slightly wider selection. Yes it's a 15 min walk down the hill to the beach, or you can use the free shuttle bus, or a taxi is inexpensive, with a taxi to Puerto Rico being less than €5 (bigger supermarkets there). The only negative I would give (and it's only a slight negative) is that the swimming pool gets full very quickly, and despite signs saying that people cannot 'reserve' a sun lounger by leaving a towel, this is not a policy which is enforced, and so on 2 days we were unable to use the poolside area. So on those days we were on the balcony enjoying the sun and the views. That said, when we did manage to get up to the poolside, it was very pleasant and the pool is lovely! More
