    All the must-haves are taken care of at the Albatros Apartments, which are sat on a pretty hillside overlooking bar-and-restaurant-packed Salou.

    These apartments more than cover off the essentials – like a good-sized pool, a smart self-serve restaurant and a near-the-beach location. The rooms are decked out in a traditionally Spanish style – think rich tangerine hues and wooden furniture.

    The lively centre of Salou is a 15-minute walk away, where you’ll find a mix of tapas eateries and late-night bars. For daytrips, Barcelona’s just over an hour away by train.

    Due to health and safety reasons, mobility scooters aren't allowed in the hotel. You might be able to park and charge your mobility scooter outside the hotel though. If you have a Blue Badge, we'd recommend you take it on holiday with you. Manual and electric wheelchairs are fine to use inside and out.

    The apartments bar, restaurant, pool area and reception are modern. Leave those areas and it changes. Lifts are very old and basic. Must be original to the building. Rooms are basic. The light switches are so old, I expected to see Arthur Negus as the Facilities Manager! No safes in the rooms, they are situated in Reception and only available between Reception timings. Staff are friendly. Nice gym. Food is basic.

    I had great vacation. We went to all three beaches, all very close. The sea is very clean and warm in september, enjoyed the waves. Since many stairs need to be used to reach the sea may not be suitable for older age. Hotel dining very good. The only coffee left to wish, of course, depends. 15 minutes to walk to the center, BusPlana office just around the corner. I recommend to buy 10 driving card, local transport very convenient.

    From start to finish of our holiday we had a wonderful time here, reception man was really helpful, got us cab told us where to get the bus always said morning evening. We are shocked by the bad reviews on here to be honest. Food was nice breakfast was lovely. The waiters were really nice. Ana mo,ABI and fai always made coversation and worked hard ,room was massive and very tidy cleaned everyday.we was shocked the beer and food in the bar was quite cheap. The people here are lovely and I definitely will be returning thanks to all staff who made our stay great.

    Stayed with family - room was an okay size, bathroom was very nice. Cleaners were good, with towels changed regularly. Location - is up a hill, in case that is a problem, and is a bit of a walk to the main beach/resort/train station, but you can take a bus or taxi. Pool was a bit small, but fine for us, and not too busy. Al Campo supermarket down the road was good, with a nice selection and not too expensive. The tourist train stops just outside, but we didn't manage a trip on it. To go on excursions, there are plenty of Plana bus stops who can help you book/get a coach.

    This hotel really suited our needs for our holiday, we were only there for 5 nites for a stop off, as we'd be visiting family inland in Spain. It is not for someone wanting a big family holiday hotel as no entertainment ,but it has a lovely pool, that is quite most of day, gets busier later on. It's a couple of minutes to a little beach, and about a 15 minute walk to the main strip.. That's if you go by the road, not by the coastal path around the beaches. If you have any walking difficulties, it may be a struggle, as bit of a hill. To us the location was great, after 12pm there was no noise at all. We have stayed in centre before and its so noisy, The room was great and really spacious, we had a cleaner come in everyday and make beds etc, was not expecting that, the balcony was massive and easily fitted family of 4 to sit out and eat. I can not coment on cooking facilities, as we went half bord (for the extra cost it was stupid not to). Breakfast was great, dinner was a bit hit and miss, but that might have been my taste. If we go back to salou again I would definitely book these apartments, they were clean, spacious and for us in a great location,definitely worth the money.
