This sea-view hotel has a beach across the road and a pool back at base. The restaurant puts on a good buffet, too.
Las Arenas is just across the road from Bil Bil Beach, so it gets sweeping views of the Med. It has its own pool, too, plus a buffet restaurant and a lounge bar with live entertainment.
Benalmadena town starts just behind the hotel, and there are shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep. There’s also a pretty promenade that runs all the way through a marina to Torremolinos.

Good hotel for mature guests
We spent the last week of October in this hotel and had a lovely holiday. The room was beautiful overlooking the pool and the beach, and the standard of daily cleaning was excellent. Buffet food was hot and good quality. There is good disabled access with ramps, we saw a few mobility scooters and walking frames. The evening entertainment is aimed at the more mature guest, of the 3 different evenings we went and saw the singers, 'Sweet Caroline ' was sung by all three of them. Lunchtime sandwiches at 3 Euros are excellent value but if you want good Tapas and wine/beer, turn right out of the hotel and about 150yards on your right is Bar 76 - it's excellent and very cheap. We took a cab up to the cable car and enjoyed the 15 minute ride to the top, fantastic views. Highlight for us was a day trip to Gibraltar which we booked through the travel shop attached to McDonald's. 38 Euros each for return express coach trip with only 2 pick up stops. We left at 8.30am and we're back by 5.30pm, trip included free time for shopping, a mini bus ride up the 'rock', and entrance to the spectacular caves, a fab day out. The only thing about the holiday I wasn't keen on (nothing to do with the hotel) is that the sea was not clean, lots of brown froth and sludge on the surface. The waiter in the beach bar said 'the sea is dirty'. Other than that, great holiday in a lovely hotel.More
Can't wait to return
Just enjoyed another visit to Las Arenas.... as we have come to expect ,the staff from reception through every department make this a wonderful experience for their guests.... The food is excellent ,the domestic staff keep your room spotlessly clean ,as they do throughout the whole hotel... the staff in the bar give an attentive service and even remember what your chosen tipple is !!! We cannot praise the hotel management and their staff enough, for all they do to make your holiday such a pleasurable experience ... So thank you all so much from us ,see you in April ...More
Lovely hotel, staff are very friendly and very helpful. Entertainment was very good food really good and always hot and lots of verify all in all I would recommend this hotel. Had a couple of issues with room shower dated with plastic shower curtain a bit grubby but reception chances the room without any trouble second room smelt of drains but after speaking to manager it was sorted very quickly with apologies . Just a few bicycle didn't spoil holiday and have booked for next year.More
Just returned from 11 nights at Las Arenas. Had a room on 5th floor overlooking the pool, and sea view. The room was cleaned to a high standard, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The food was good, with plenty of variety. The only slight downside to this hotel is the fact that the pool and sitting area are at the east side of the hotel ,so don’t get the sun later in the afternoon. ,More
Recently spent a week at Las Arenas and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Allocated a pool view room on fourth floor which was perfect for us. Spacious and very clean room with good maid service every day. Evening meal buffet style was varied and very good the only thing we didn't like we're the soups. Breakfast again varied however the sausage and in particular the bacon was not great. The usual fatty inedible bacon, however there were plenty of other choices. One thing I would suggest is an egg station where eggs are cooked fresh to order. Entertainment was ok....unlike others wasn't overly impressed by Ricky Lavazza but on the whole it was pretty good. There are several nice outside areas with sun and shade but the pool is u heated and was hardly used. The hotel is now closed for refurbishment so hopefully they will heat the pool. I've heard when it reopens the hotel will be adults only. This was our first time in Benalmadena and there are several nice restaurants and pubs. I would avoid the marina area for a meal as it's overpriced and not as good as the strip. Palominos Park is nice to spend a few hours but beware it is infested with flies and Mosquitos and repellant is a must. We couldn't find any decent shops in the town and it seemed to be cheap supermarkets only. All in all would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing break.More
