Nice hotel, very central, only problem was the lack of sunbeds, I got into a heated argument with a Spanish man over towels on sunbeds and witnessed another, some people were taking 3 sunbeds for 2 people and other were putting towels on beds and not returning for most of the day, this made for an unpleasant experience around the pool during the day More
Very nice hotel
Great hotel and an ideal location especially if you want to be near the old town. We were 3 people and all had separate rooms which were nice and comfortable but we didn't pay for sea or side sea view which was expensive so our views were not good but that's the only fault, but to be honest you have to expect that in Benidorm and it certainty won't stop us from returning.More
Lovely sea view room
I visited the hotel in September with two friends,we paid extra for a sea view which was lovely ,asked for a extra chair for the balcony as there was three of us in the room, which they provided. We stayed bed and breakfast, breakfast food was okay, I did find the staff very unhelpful in the dinning room very unfriendly, maybe because we don't speak Spanish , as there was a lot of Spanish guests they chatted with them .The pool area was very small and towels out on the sun beds very early, we went to the beach. The location is great opposite the beach and near to the old town which we liked. We only had one drink at the hotel on the day we arrived, preferred other bars .More
Not as bad as people make out.
We arrived at this hotel expecting it to be four star, it isn't.our room was at the front, balcony overlooking the sea, brilliant, the bar next door was heavingwith a stag party, very noisy for some on the lower floors, but on the third, we closed the door and heard very little.the hotel is geared to Spanish guests, and the food is also geared to Spanish people , we muddled through, what I did not like , tea or coffee only at breakfast not lunch or dinner, and one head waiter very miserable, now we come to the pool. If you are not an early riser (7am) you will be lucky to get a sun bed, people were putting up to seven towels out, then if you do get one, what a squeeze, three inches between the beds, my wife was on crutches and could not use the beach, so trying to get her on a sun bed was hard. Staff, the staff on the front desk were brilliant, Marina, Patricia and co, all of them could not have been more helpful, tried to converse with the cleaners but they did not speak English, which was a pity because they were brilliant, rooms were sparkling. Television, forget it , no English programmes, two American, how many yanks in Benidorm. Overall I only give three stars maybe I'm being hard, the pool, the food , and one lift constantly breaking down, that is why. Before we travelled I read all the reviews and can't understand why management don't listen to the complaints, the pool area is mentioned in nearly all reviews nothing done, the entertainment, again nothing done. If you want Brits to come please address these complaints, but to be honest, I think you would be happy having fewer Brits and more Spanish.More
7 day stay
Spent a week at the Hotel 30th September to 7th October. In company with wife Jenny, Neville and Eileen Henry and Ann and Jean. The place was on the beach front absolutely ideal if you like the beach which we do. Our friends had side views which you could just see the sea from but quite noisy from bars close by We had a rear room overlooking the main street which was ok but very little noise. The rooms were very clean and tidy with good showers and fresh towels every day. Beds were made every day and kept fresh. Entertainment was nothing special as same artists every night although very good got a little boring when there is so much entertainment all around. Swimming pool was fine but very difficult getting a bed with people putting down towels and not using them. Signs are up saying not to reserve beds but no one enforces it. The staff were all polite and helpful. The food was fine apart from the poor meats being mainly veal most nights which I dislike. Was some chicken and turkey one night. If you like fish which most of our party did it was fine loads of it. The rest was good sweets fine with loads of fruit. All in all everyone enjoyed our stay. Never been to Benidorm before it's certainly different but loads to do and see. Not sure if I would go back again but enjoyed this holiday. Luckily not with Monarch.More
