With a supersized atrium and a lagoon-like pool, the Melia Benidorm proves bigger is better.
The Melia Benidorm is right in the centre of the resort, only a 10-minute walk from Levante Beach. Vines and flowers adorn the atrium’s pillars and balconies, mixing natural and modern themes.
Thatched parasols and palm trees line the pool terrace if you’d rather cool off at the hotel. You’ll have three bars to choose from, two of which stay open until late at night.

First time at the hotel and here are my observations; Staff; Friendly, approachable and very helpful, congratulations to them all. Pool Area; A wonderful huge area with lots of sun beds and lots of places to escape the sun if you wanted to. Pool bar area was a bonus and staff serving there were fabulous. Room; I stayed in a premium room on the 15th floor(more on that later). The room had lots of storage space, a refrigerator and sofa with table. I had a wonderful bathroom with a shower and bath and again lots of space to move about, I was very pleased. Cleaning; The cleaning staff were wonderful and did a great job every day in my room and the towels were changed daily. Lifts; Lots of things written about the lifts and I did struggle especially during meal times trying to get a lift from either the reception area or floor 15. Tip is to walk down the dining room floor to get one as they tend to bypass reception during meal breaks. Dining Room; I was on bed & breakfast and only made it down to breakfast once but it was like a jungle down there due to the amount of people descending at one time, it was also very noisy. Food I had was fine so no complaints there, but I didn't bother after my first experience although I don't blame the hotel it's just the sheer volume of people it reminded me of a holiday camp. Hotel, Wonderful surroundings and the decor was lovely. Indoor pool was great and so was the welcome bottle of drink left in my room by the hotel management. Tips; If you like tea/coffee in your room you'll need to bring your own kettle and buy some over the road at the supermarket. WOK Chinese is also across the road and was one of the best I've ever eaten. Rock and roll house for evening entertainment in you like your 50's music. Complaint; Only gripe I had was that I did write to the hotel twice before I arrived to ask for a lower level room as my partner is not good with heights, both e-mails went un replied and subsequently I was placed on the 15th floor which we both did not enjoy despite the views. Overall; A wonderful hotel with great staff and one I would recommend to others if they did not mind heights.More
Fourth visit to Melia Hotel
Love these hotels and thought they would all be the same Beautiful and spotless hotel Room on 17th floor we were brought champagne and glasses on arrival Chocolates every night Cleaner kept our room immaculate Pool and outside area very special with palm trees and plenty of beds Unfortunately for the first time in a Melia hotel the evening meals were not up to Melia standard Food was cold Meat very undercooked which not good for pork and chicken and steak meat was tough Very disappointing Our evening meal which we both normally enjoy was salad and chipsMore
Light on terrace and sliding door
This is a great hotel to stay in, staff was helpful and the breakfast was good also had a lovely pool.. Inside and outside of the Hotel was impressive and nice and clean.....only went on half board...only slight issue was with light on terrace not working and sliding door wont lock and close properly....also noise from residents moving furniture around is loud- but thats down to noise from residents and not hotels fault..... Apart from that its a great hotel to stay at and would come back again...More
Best pool in Benidorm
Recently returned from faultless stay. Special request for high floor honoured and the view Carried out a lot of research beforehand to find a hotel with plenty of sun loungers, not all surrounding the pool, and the largest swimming pool with secluded areas to swim away from main sunbathers area. I’m pleased to say Amelia did not disappoint. I found the food here was excellent with a good choice. Special thanks to Maria on reception who I was lucky enough to have her both check me in and check out. Superb service. I will be back!More
Arrived about 2pm and checked in promptly- I had asked for a low floor and given floor 2, so I could use the stairs! As I've visited this hotel before it was nice to be recognised / welcomed back by some staff! Pool plants had been cut back a little to reduce the shaded areas by the pool, which was required. Food quality good as per usual, but 10 days into my two week break, the breakfast eggs were cooked by a different method and I couldn’t seem to understand why.... prefer boiling in olive oil. Returning next year just because of the friendly staff and tremendous poolMore
