The 2 Michelin star restaurant is the jewel in the crown of this hillside hotel. And it also has two ocean-view pools.
This cliff-side hotel serves up some of the best harbour views in Funchal. What’s more, it’s home to one of Madeira’s Michelin-starred restaurants. There’s a buffet restaurant, too, as well as a great sports menu.
The hotel is spread across tiered gardens. On the top level, there’s a large pool and a chic spa. And there’s another pool right by the sea. A free shuttle bus can whisk you to the centre of Funchal in five minutes.

Our favourite hotel
We returned to the Cliff Bay for the 4th time, we just love this hotel. The staff are so warm and friendly and nothing is too much to ask for. The breakfast is just fabulous, every fruit you can think of, continental breakfast and full english, whatever you want. I would certainly recommend this hotel.More

Great stay. Very comfortable rooms and had an amazing view of the sea. There is also a wide range of facilities, we did not want to leave the resort. Staff were very helpful and I would recommend booking in a massage session.More
There's one big problem with this hotel, I didn't want to leave.
This was the best hotel I've ever stayed in. I never felt so relaxed on holiday. I traveled with my sister and she felt the same. The staff are just wonderful, very friendly (but never intrusive) knowledgeable and helpful. Their always ready with a smile. The lovely lady who showed us to our table at breakfast deserves a special mention. She worked very hard at getting us a good table in the garden every morning. The beds were large and almost too comfortable I fell asleep in a second even if I didn't want to. Rooms were spotless as was the rest of the hotel. It was the grounds that I loved. They are right on the cliff with lots of nooks and crannies to sit in. The pools are wonderful. I'm not sure which one I enjoyed the best the salt water pool or the top heated pool. We were B.B and really enjoyed breakfast lots of choice and a glass of fizz to sit and enjoy the early morning garden. We ate three meals at the themed nights with wine and really enjoyed them. I had planned to explore Madeira but I'm afraid I didn't do as much as I planned because I simply didn't want to leave this really beautiful hotel. Thank you all.More

Excellent bedroom with very comfortable beds and every facility. Very clean and well maintained. Hotel oozes tranquility and peace and all areas are well serviced by polite staff with lounge and public areas all well appointed. Lots of lovely little touches like fresh cold water and glasses and fruit on reception just incase. The spa area is amazing - lovely jacuzzi, steam room, showers and sauna and so peaceful. Basically you are very well looked after and cosseted. If I were to criticise I would say it is a pity the swimming pool is not bigger and the bedside lights and controls could be better. Should also say that elderly or disabled are well catered for. I should add that the hotel will be commencing building work from beginning of October which will involve linking the existing manor house to the left of the hotel to the hotel by means of a tunnel and altering this building to accommodate luxury suites due to be completed a year later?? may be noise of building works.More
