Head for Milocer and you’ll find a pint-sized village that sits on the Budva Riviera, on Montenegro’s postcard-perfect coastline. You can kick off your flip-flops and stroll along sandy swathes that have a seashell-pink tint, with gentle waves lapping the shore. Plus, you might spot Villa Milocer on your travels – this historic summer home was built by the Yugoslav Karađorđević royal family in the 1930s, and today, it houses a restaurant and a spa. The whole place is surrounded by pine and cedar trees, and the coastline views are sapphire blue.

Scenic strolls to Pržno

Everything’s hushed at Milocer, so if you’re wanting to go off grid and totally relax, you’ve hit the jackpot. And if you find yourself fancying a change of scenery, you’re also in luck – it's about 15 minutes’ stroll to the neighbouring fishing village of Pržno. The coastal path that takes you there comes with scents of pine trees and sea breeze, and there’s plenty to snap photos of, too – think hillside olive groves and sweeping views of the bright-blue Adriatic Sea.

A Mediterranean botanical park

At the heart of this resort is Milocer Park – a pea-green botanical garden spanning 18 hectares (that’s about the size of 25 football pitches). It’s peaceful and pretty, dotted with everything from giant Lebanese cedar trees to blossoming magnolias and fragrant eucalyptus trees. You might stumble across a basketball court, a kids' playground and a rustic open-air gym on your walk, along with views of the famous Villa Milocer.
