Holidays to San Teodoro rival Sardinia's main towns, thanks to a postcard-worthy beach, natural scenery and glitzy nightlife.
Once a small fishing village, San Teodoro's now one of Sardinia’s favourite spots for holidaymakers. It’s located in the north-east of the island, fringed by long, powdery-white sands that stretch out for miles. The crystal-clear sea makes it an ideal spot for snorkelling and paddle-boarding. Back on dry land, you’ve got charming restaurants and a bustling night scene.
A five-minute drive gets you to San Teodoro’s best-loved beach, La Cinta. It’s one of the longest stretches on this part of the island, so it’s a popular pick for horse riding and long walks on the sand. The still, shallow waters are good for snorkelling, and you’ve got the picture-perfect, limestone island of Tavolara floating in the distance.
A hop across the island lands you at San Teodoro’s lagoon. This place makes a great day out for nature-lovers, and has been nicknamed ‘the home of pink flamingos’. You’ll find these pastel-pink creatures standing tip-toed in the shallows, looking for small prey. Herons, kingfishers and kestrels are just a few of the other birds you’ll likely come across when visiting.
