Prekas Studios and Bungalows

This is one place we will definitely be returning to. The rooms are typically Greek (basic) but it doesn't detract from the beautiful grounds/pool area and the fabulous on site Calma restaurant. The studio apartments and restaurant are family owned. Every day we would have our 11 o'clock (known as beer o'clock!) drinks and a light lunch a few hours later at Calma and we dined at the restaurant several times during the evening. I can honestly say the food is out of this world and it is prepared and cooked fresh every day by Maria and her team. The service is second to none. The owners Nicos and Maria and their boys are such warm, welcoming, lovely people. There is a feeling we got here which we can't quite put into words but I'll try by saying magical, enchanting, relaxing but really they don't do this feeling justice.

This hotel is situated about a 5 minute walk away from the main road which you walk down when being dropped off by coach and your luggage comes separate on a smaller lorry as the coach can’t get down the road to the hotel. On arrival we were greeted by Nikos the owner who showed us to our room and sorted out us having air conditioning. Rooms are basic with a small kitchen area with a fridge, 2 little Hobs and a sink there was plenty of plates and basic utensils. We were located on the second floor and had a room for 3 as we had our son with us. Rooms are clean very well, they are not cleaned on a Sunday as I believe it is the cleaners rest day but this is no real drama Pool area The pool area is beautiful it is made up of a big pool and a small child’s pool there are plenty of sun beds for the number of guest although some still insisted on getting up ridiculously early to put there towels out. Please remember this is a family hotel so if you don’t like kids then probably not for you although there was only our son at this hotel when we stayed some grumpy older people took offence to our 2 year old singing away to himself in the pool they then went on to complain about him to the tui rep who simply told them to go to another pool as after witnessing our son in the pool numerous times couldn’t see any issue with what he was doing ! Located in a lovely area the owner is very nice wouldn’t hesitate to go back !

The grounds and garden areas are well kept, the pool area also nice and clean and fairly quite during the day. the rooms are basic, beds comfy for greek beds, we had two pillows which were new and lovely and soft. if you wanted to self cater, there was one mid sized pan, one small frying pan, a chopping board. then two of every thing crockery, cups and that sort of stuff. Plenty of hot water, you had to hold shower head no hook on wall. we could not sleep with doors open due to the old couple up early in the room next door as the balconies are quite open , so you can hear people talking. The restaurant was lovely the food was well presented and the service good. We attended the cooking demonstration which was interesting and included lunch, and we were stuffed, Maria was very generous with the portions. There is a kettle, a toaster and a hair drier in the room, ladies if you have long hair i would still take your own hair drier. the beach is a ten mimuet stroll away, its a sandy beach and does get get quite busy, there are lots of sun beds down there to rent or an area where you can just lay on the sand if you prefer. there are lots of nice restaurants in the area, and the local bus is great, we were bust stop 16, if you go into town you can get off at bust stop 4 and walk down to the port of just stay on to the terminus. We like the island, had a visit to the dog shelter, they do an amazing job in difficult situation , they have no running water or electric. the place is spotless and the dogs well cared for, they have a facebook page if you want to have a look. we did a trip on a yacht, which we really enjoyed. we were spending around 50 euros on a meal for two, starters, main, and a litre of house red.
