We stayed at the RPLA for two weeks and enjoyed every moment of our stay. The hotel is all inclusive adults only, has three pools and five restaurants. We found the food in all the restraurants to be of a very high standard and varied enough for a two week holiday. The one thing that is outstanding at this hotel is the staff, special mention to Enrique the pool waiter, Ishmael the buffet waiter and Connie the bar waitress who really made our holiday special. The staff at this hotel work their socks off to make this truly a palace. We hope to return again next year. . More
Vacation in Paradise
Stayed at Riu Palace LA for 6 days. Paid for an ocean view room and received a partial ocean view, if you use the same theory used at Riu Palace Pacifco in Riviera Nyarit. One o the two elevators to the wing my room was on did not work the entire time there. Hotel renovated in 2016. Beautiful, as are all Palaces (except Bahamas). The staff was most accommodating; food was excellent. Loved Black and White, the steakhouse. Did not go to Japanese restaurant and heard mixed reviews from those eating there. Krystal, as usual, was outstanding. Mexican restaurant snapper was covered in LOTS of onions, Shrimp was iffy, Fajitas excellent. Negative was the tortilla soup, which I was looking forward to, was cold in the turine. Went to Italian Restaurant. Some had the seafood spaghetti and liked it, same for lamb chops. Two of us had the Ossobucco and it was just OK. But, the salad and dessert bars were excellent. The buffet for breakfast and lunch were excellent; fresh and much to choose from. Three days they had a BBQ at the pool that had ribs, chicken, shrimp, pizza, potatoes, Mexican, desserts, jambalaya. Lots to eat and it was all excellent. The night shows began at 9:45 which is a little late. One afternoon at the pool (the pool people, wait staff, bartenders and automation/entertainment crew were all amazing), there was a synchronized swimming routine and it was simply fabulous. Loved the two infinity pools and the cabanas. There was quite a bit a beach area, but, not much walking beach. Hotel located across street from stores, mall, restaurants, etc. so, always something to do. The 24/7 sports bar provides breakfast and burgers, snacks, 24/7. There is a cappuccino bar with pastries and ice cream in the lobby. Beautiful hotel. Well managed; staff all kind. Highly recommend. Big plus is this is an adults only!!!More
The hotel is lovely we was welcomed with a nice glass of champagne and checked into our room straight away, room was nice and clean with a lovely view of the pool and ocean. We had a lovely anniversary surprise of a bottle of champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries with a note which was a nice suprise. The hotel was spotless throughout with all the staff doing excellent jobs .The a la Carte restaurants was lovely our favourite was the black and white (steak) food was so filling and a lot of it. The Italian wasn’t so great as the buffet side was cold (bolognese, pizzas) so didn’t eat anything. But the other restaurants were good lots of staff to attend your every need. The pool waiter enrico was amazing so chatty and friendly. The entertainment team was good and the evening beach party was my favourite. The older lady who cleaned the reception toilets was so lovely always said ola. I gave her a nice tip and she was so shocked and grateful she hugged me. More
50th Birthday Gathering
I have been to 3 Riu Palace locations and this one by far is the best. The staff was awesome from the moment we walked in the door! Check in was flawless, even though we arrived at 10:30 am. Because we were so early, our room was not ready, but we were able to leave our luggage if desired and enjoy the amenities. As our group arrived the previous day, we put our luggage in with them. Our wrist bands allowed us to have lunch and enjoy all amenities until our room was ready. The food at this resort was excellent. We have been to several all inclusive resorts, besides Riu and this one was tops. Each waiter/waitress we encountered was friendly and efficient. We especially liked Jair and would highly recommend being seated at his table in the buffet restaurant. Each night we tried a different sit down restaurant. Favorite dishes include the squash soup, rib-eye, lobster, fajita's, mahi mahi. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The housekeeping staff was efficient and good at their job! We had an issue with our room safe, battery died. One call to the front desk and within minutes maintenance was there to fix the problem. 3 pools gave quite a diversity. I really enjoyed the activities at the pool with the swimup bar.. Rosa and the group were great fun, providing zumba, water aerobics, volleyball, surf board competition and a body slide/walk competition. One day, we were late getting to the pool because of offsite activities and sat near the small pool on the north side of the property. It was just what we needed, quiet and lots of shade. Had an excellent massage! In fact, it was the best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend the 80 minute one, as it was amazing. Can't wait to return!More
We just got home last night and can't wait to go again. We had stayed at another Riu in Cancun the past two years and thought we would try Las Americas. We are already looking at dates for a return. Everything about the resort was awesome. It started with Pablo at check in. He was friendly and got us off to a great start with a glass of champagne. Everyone employee we had contact with were friendly as well. I really want to single out our waiter for breakfast and lunch. His name is Ismael and we were greeted at every meal with a smile and great service. He made a great vacation even better. The lobby, piano bar and room were fantastic. The grounds were immaculate as well. The landscaping is great and the lighting at night is beautiful. We did not spend much time in the pools because the beach and water were too good to pass up. We went to several shows and enjoyed them as well. Met some great people from the US, Canada and United Kingdom. I could go on and on but I think the fact that we will not be staying anywhere else in Cancun but Las Americas speaks for itself.More
