A beach postcode, contemporary interiors and a peaceful spa area, the Waves Hotel and Spa has all the makings of a relaxing retreat.
This place sits right on the edge of a white-sand beach. Rows of palm trees give the beach a private feel, and the gentle waves are perfect for paddling. Plus, it’s just a 10-minute cab ride away from Bridgetown.
The property had a makeover for winter 2016, so you can expect a sleek and modern finish. Rooms boast little extras, like big flat-screen TVs, yoga mats and Bluetooth speakers.

After searching extensively for a honeymoon spot, waves had great reviews not only online but with Consumer friendly sites and the travel books. I was first, impressed when I heard that the extensive renovations in 2016 were done utilizing local materials and contractors, and in doing so, put back into their own local economy. Looking at the resort, it does not look "renovated" it looks BRAND NEW. It is top quality, impeccably clean, and the staff are professional yet incredibly warm. There are no hidden fees. The food is incredibly fresh and has a range from the very health minded to those who may want to splurge. We were met at the airport as arranged, and when we got to the hotel they took our bags to our room, gave cold refreshments as they checked us in and gave us an overview of the resort. We were so tried and hungry from the flight, and went to the coffee shop, where they made us panini's and wraps, fresh hummus and great coffee.... while we unwound before freshening up and heading out to the beach. They have great concierge service at the beach also, taking drink orders and bringing refreshing facecloths as well. I even saw one person bring out suntan lotion and said "you look a little red, do you need more cold water or lotion?" Not intrusively, but in a caring manner. There are nightly entertainers that have a great rapport with the guests. There is such an open-air feel to the hotel, you hear the ocean in the background all the time and it is entirely relaxing. The spa takes meticulous care in their treatments also, and we had pedicures which they spent 1 1/2 hours on each of us. Everything is very clean, the staff will help with anything that you ask, and we had a wonderful honeymoon They anticipated we were honeymooners, and had rose petals, champagne and chocolate cake in the room for us both, as well met us at the door of the hotel with glasses of champagne. it was hard to leave. There is such a personalized feel to the Waves, and staff that genuinely care. We will be back as soon as we can safe up.More
We came for our honeymoon couldn't have picked a better place, great room with a gorgeous sea view. The island is completely safe and the people were so friendly we will definitely be back.... no doubt!More
Lovely and relaxing
We spent four nights here for a break from the cold / life, in an ocean front room. We were on the ground floor which I was nervous about, but it was much quieter than I expected (though we could hear the live entertainment which goes on until 10, just something to think about, but we didn't hear other lobby noise). We don't normally go for all-inclusives but it was so nice to not have to think about anything, and the smaller size of this hotel means that you can just pick when and where you're having dinner while at breakfast. Food was pretty good, and we especially liked that the coffee shop offered sandwiches and things all day. The staff are fantastic—so helpful and truly friendly. Housekeeping was timely and efficient (especially since we were tracking sand everywhere, sorry). The shower water pressure is excellent, bed was harder than I like it but not terrible. We spent all day on the beach (where they come by regularly with drinks and snacks!) so I can't speak to the pools, but the adults only pool looked lovely. The beach has rocks jutting out on either end, which keeps it very quiet. They also have a great section for snorkeling in (and snorkel equipment); we saw way more fish than we thought we would so close to shore! I also can't speak to the spa; we booked through Travelocity, and I'm not sure if that was the reason, but we didn't get any spa vouchers. They have a water taxi that pulls right up to the beach and takes you to their other properties, but we were told that the other all inclusive was full for lunch the day we wanted to go, so we didn't take it as we loved the quiet little beach and more wanted the change of scenery for food.More
A lovely place to stay with fantastic customer service from all the staff
Came here for a well earned break and rest. Hotel upgraded the room to sea view in the main building due to partner being on crutches. Deck allowed us to sit and watch beautiful sunsets each night. The adult only pool are was lovely and the inclusive spa treatments were great. The best bit was the staff - so friendly and genuine- they made the trip. Nothing was too much bother and the ladies in the restaurants certainly looked after us. We had a great time and felt this hotel was better than the sister hotel up the coast, as it was smaller, friendlier and the staff were happy to help make your stay. Thanks for a great time and if you're reading this some of the views expressed from around the same time are unfounded.More
Holiday group of 10 including 4 children 4,6,7,9. Stayed late October 2017 This is a brilliant resort. I mostly expect rustic charm from Barbados, but this place was contemporary and very well kept. The staff were all wonderful and extremely welcoming to our whole group. Food was very good - especially the Asian Fusion. All breakfasts, Lunch and dinner were excellent. Cocktails are largely unbranded spirits, but well made. All the kids seemed to have their own non-alcoholic cocktails named after them by the end of the week! Loved the elevation of the hotel meaning that the dining area and bar had unbroken views out over the sea. Sea-view delux room (I think) which was large and had sofa bed for the kids. Contemporary, well air-conditioned and a tremendous view. We all really enjoyed the beach and watersports which were all included (apart from non-resort jet skis). Excellent water-skiing instruction available. Enjoyed the sailing, kayaks and paddle-boards. No shortage of loungers. When full the staff will lay out some more for you when needed. Also a free water taxi which runs up and down the coast to the other resorts. We visited Colony Club for the morning, and although a nice pool, I was glad to get back to the style and atmosphere of Waves! If there is one possible draw back for family groups it would be the family area pool which is in a walled garden type area, and although nicely done and was great for the odd couple of hours, isn't a big resort type pool. I actually liked this as it meant we got the kids out playing on the beach and in the sea everyday, and not spending all week in a pool! It's the Caribbean! There is a large pool over the road for adults only by the spa. Although I didn't use mine, we were also all given spa vouchers included, which many of my group used and enjoyed very much. A generous touch! We loved this place and hope to return very soon. Thanks to everyone who works there for giving our group an unforgettable trip.More
