Romance on the sand

Aruba has all the qualities a Caribbean Island should have – white sands, swaying palm trees and bath-warm waters. No wonder it’s such a catch when it comes to wedding destinations overseas. The best swathe of coast is the 11-kilometre stretch between Palm Beach and Eagle Beach on the western side. Here, you can walk down an aisle of sand to exchange vows as the Caribbean Sea stirs in the background.

Staying on the island for your honeymoon following your wedding makes Aruba even more appealing. Try out some of the world’s best restaurants – fork through lobster and scallops, and cook your own fillet steak on sizzling lava stones. Daytimes, meanwhile, can be spent sailing the coast on catamarans or sipping cocktails on the piers that are stilted above the Caribbean.
