Best time to go to Finland
Remember to pack your thermals if you’re heading to Finland in the winter – the north of the country sits within the Arctic Circle. Winter kicks in here around October time, bringing thick snow and temperatures below freezing. During December and January, the mercury drops even further – minus 10°C is common, and temperatures can fall as low as minus 30°C. Daylight hours vary quite a bit over the winter, from as little as four hours a day around Christmas, to eight or nine in March. Visit in the summer, meanwhile, and you can expect temperatures that range from between 15°C and 32°C, with the warmest days found in the south.
