The flight time from London Stansted Airport to Tenerife South Airport in the Canary Islands is around four and a half hours. The average flight time is four hours 25 minutes. However, wind direction can affect cruising speed. Some flights may be quicker, while others could take a few minutes longer.
Between May and August, direct flights from Stansted to Tenerife depart on Friday afternoons. Additional flights are available over the popular winter period, with a twice weekly service. You’ll fly in a south west direction from London towards the Bournemouth coast and across the English Channel. After passing just west of the island of Guernsey, you may see a quick glimpse of Brittany and the northern tip of mainland Spain before making your way towards the Canaries. You’ll usually travel around the western side of the island before landing at Tenerife South.
November to May is the cheapest time to fly to Tenerife, with the cheapest flights from Stansted being offered in February. Great deals are also available throughout June, September, and October. Demand is often higher during July and August.
