Hyatt Centric Times Square New York

We don't typically stay in Times Square, but when taking our little kids to NYC for the first time for a birthday, we knew that most of our visit would be centered in the area. We have usually had great experiences with Hyatt branded hotels, but this was our first experience with a Hyatt Centric. I contacted the hotel before booking with a few questions and received very prompt replies with all the information I needed to ensure that this would be a good hotel for our visit. We stayed for 2 nights in a 1 bedroom suite on the top floor. The views were great. The room was perfect for us since we were able to put the kids to bed early, but still order dinner to the room and have a separate living area. The room was not huge, but decent size for NYC standards. The room was clean, bathroom very large and clean, and all the right amenities (fridge, coffee with starbucks pods, safe, 2 TV's, heated flooring in the bathroom, huge soaker tub with separate shower, pullout couch in living room, lots of plugs and charging areas). The bed was great! The pullout was not (but it was exactly what we expected and perfect for the little kids once we moved them there before we took over the bed). FYI...there was no misconception about the comfort of the pullout - the general manager even offered a friendly warning that it would be good for kids, but not for two adults. He was right with his advice and honesty. In summary, this suite was perfect for 2 adults and 2 little kids (or 2 adults and 1 older kid/teenager). The hotel location was ideal for Times Square. Half a block from the main strip with views of Times Square from higher rooms. Very close to all restaurants and attractions. It's a bit loud, even on the higher floors, but Times Square is not a quiet place - I don't think you can completely avoid noise unless you stay in a different area of the City (Noise was not an issue for us for sleeping at all). The hotel itself felt new, clean, and modern. The lobby is small, as expected for a NYC hotel with small footprint. But it didn't really need to be big. 2 banks of elevators - 3 to the lower floors and 3 to the upper floors. The wait times for the elevators for us was minimal since the elevator was very fast even to our top floor room. It was good to have 2 banks of elevators since you don't end up stopping at nearly as many floors on the way up or down. The gym was big and clean as well for a quick workout. Most importantly for us, the service level at the hotel was great. Clearly this hotel is very well-managed. From the gentleman outside who arranged our car service to the airport, to the check-in and check-out staff, to the guest services, we were always greeted politely and respectfully. From experience in hospitality, I know that this is because of the culture of the hotel itself as set by the management and general manager of the hotel (he even had little cakes/gifts sent to our room for the kids, which was a really exciting special touch for them to enjoy and not something we expected). We had a small issue with the heat in our room, and had a maintenance person there within minutes to attend to it. He was also very respectful and polite when in our room. Housekeeping kept the room clean and fully stocked. Though we don't typically stay in Times Square, we would not hesitate to return to this hotel again. In fact, we would strongly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Times Square. If you value great service, cleanliness, and quality rooms, you will not be disappointed with the Hyatt Centric Times Squares. I should add that it was great for us as a family, but would be equally good for couples or business as it has all the amenities and location you need for your visit.

There's a Starbuck's across the street and Junior's Deli is at the end of the block. It's a perfect location for any show that you fancy and the lodging is comfortable, clean, and secure. The staff is very professional. I recommend the Avocado Toast for any meal if you're eating in the restaurant or in your room. It's delightful, fresh baked multigrain toast with plenty of mashed, ripe avocado smeared on, topped with an egg - any style! Satisfying and delicious!
