We stayed last January for 7nights and had a wonderful relaxing holiday. We don't usually return to the same places on holiday but this time we are retuning for 10 nights at the end of January 2018 because I don't think we could better it . You should defiantly stay all inclusiveMore
Perfect repeat visit
Apprehensive about whether we would enjoy the island as much as we did first time but we needn't have worried. Even though weather was overcast for much of our stay we couldn't have felt more relaxed. The staff are all brilliant and the quality and range of food is excellent. This holiday is not for everyone but we enjoy snorkelling and reading and this island is the best for snorkellingMore
Top notch, loved every minute
We had previously stayed at the sister resort Veligandu and this was touted as the slightly poor relation. Not in the least. The resort is lovely, the food is fantastic, the service is beyond reproach (we were looked after in the adults-only restaurant by Mazeed who was first-rate. The resort has got it right with a clear separation between families and adults-only, all the water villas are adults only and are served by an adult-only restaurant and bar. The only slight and very minor fly in the ointment is the wifi which annoyingly times out any connection after two hours so if data roaming is off, you won't get emails overnight until you reconnect - not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. The resort is using sandbags to help prevent erosion but they are unobtrusive. The paths on the island could do with re-sanding as they are pretty hard in places and you should be able to spend your whole time in bare feet except for the walkway to the water villas which gets VERY hot in the sun and so you need flipflops to traverse this.More
Spent 10 days at the beautiful resort We were worried about the weather at this time of year and the forcast stated rain rain rain - rained on day or arrival not another drop. We stayed In a sunset water villa which was beautiful cleaned twice a day, the view of the sunset was amazing every night. Snorkels straight from the room. Smirked with turtles, Rays sharks everyday without fail - yes there is bleaching and damage to the reef but the sealife was still breath taking. Sadly some people chose to stand and walk on the reef despit being advised not too!!! Food in the restaurant was second to none , lots and lots of choice and waiting staff were friendly couldn't do enough for you. Island was spotlessly clean and maintained. We went on the 1/2 day Whale shark and Manta ray trips - saw both which was an amazing experience. The only thing that needs improvement is the check out experience staff were miscible and rude Would we return???? Yes in a heart beatMore
My wife and I have just come back from wonderful 10 day holiday at Vilamendhoo. What a place? Beautiful white sands, turquoise sea, lovely coral reefs, fabulous food - what more can we say. We had a lovely beach bungalow which had lovely views and a 10 second stroll to the seas. The diving and snorkelling opportunities all around the island are marvellous and the tranquil vibe of the place is just perfect for people who just want to chill in a lovely setting and watch the world go by. If you are going to travel that far, pick the all inclusive option with a sea plane from Malle. The beach bungalows are lovely but I would consider a water villa in the adults only section for a special treat. Would we return for another holiday? You bet we would.More
